अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि यदि आप एक सांप को दूध पिलाते हैं, तो वह दूध को भी जहर में बदल देता है क्योंकि उसका स्वभाव ही विषैला है। इसी प्रकार, संसार में ऐसे दुर्लभ लोग होते हैं जो दूसरों के द्वारा दिए गए जहर (अपमान या द्वेष) को भी पीकर उसे अमृत या प्रेम में बदल देते हैं, जो कि एक अत्यंत उच्च आध्यात्मिक अवस्था है।

Meaning: A father cherished his daughter deeply. However, lured by the promise of sweets, the daughter rushed forward in greed. In her intense craving for the sugary treat, she completely forgot the father who provided it and the love he held for her. By remaining in constant face-to-face communion with the Divine, they exist in a state of flow where the Universe provides exactly what is needed, wherever and whenever it is required.
