अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि बिना प्रेम के बाहरी दिखावा और धार्मिक वेशभूषा व्यर्थ है। जब हृदय में सच्चा प्रेम नहीं होता, तब मनुष्य केवल शब्दों का जाल बुनता है और व्यर्थ के तर्क-वितर्क तथा विवादों में उलझा रहता है, जिसका आध्यात्मिक जीवन में कोई मूल्य नहीं है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that without love, all external appearances and religious attire are meaningless. When the essence of love is absent from the heart, human interaction descends into empty rhetoric and endless disputes, which hold no value in the pursuit of spiritual liberation.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि सांसारिक लोग केवल सुख के साथी होते हैं और स्वार्थी होते हैं; जब दुख आता है, तो वे साथ छोड़ देते हैं। लेकिन जो परमारथी (परमात्मा या आत्म-ज्ञानी) है, वह सुख और दुख दोनों स्थितियों में समान रूप से उपस्थित रहता है और विचलित नहीं होता।

Meaning: Kabir observes that worldly companions are driven by selfishness, clustering around you in times of prosperity but vanishing during adversity. In contrast, the Paramarthi—the Supreme Soul or the enlightened one—remains equanimously present and unwavering, regardless of whether the tide brings joy or sorrow.
