अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जब तक एक सच्चा गुरु और एक समर्पित शिष्य का मिलन नहीं होता, तब तक मनुष्य केवल लालच और स्वार्थ के खेल में उलझा रहता है। इस अज्ञानता के कारण, वह पत्थर की नाव (अर्थात मिथ्या विश्वास और अहंकार) पर सवार होकर संसार की कठिन धाराओं में डूब जाता है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that without the authentic union of a realized Guru and a devoted disciple, a human remains trapped in the game of greed and self-interest. अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि मुझे डर है कि मनुष्य इस संसार रूपी सागर को पार नहीं कर पाएगा। क्योंकि वह लोभ रूपी नदी की तीव्र धारा में पूरी तरह डूब चुका है, और जो लालच के प्रवाह में बह गया, वह मोक्ष की ओर नहीं बढ़ सकता।

अर्थ: जिस प्रकार एक खराब या टूटा हुआ सिक्का पूरी मुद्रा की सभा या मूल्य को बिगाड़ देता है, और जिस प्रकार केसर में मिलाई गई गंदगी या कंकड़ उसकी शुद्धता और सुगंध को नष्ट कर देते हैं, उसी प्रकार लालच और भौतिक इच्छाएं मनुष्य की सच्ची भक्ति और आध्यात्मिक साधना को पूरी तरह दूषित कर देती हैं।

Meaning: Just as a single counterfeit or damaged coin spoils the value of a whole collection, and just as a pebble or impurity ruins the purity and fragrance of precious saffron, the presence of greed and worldly desire corrupts the essence of true devotion, rendering the spiritual practice hollow and ineffective.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that one who serves with the expectation of a reward, constantly calculating their gains day and night, is not a true devotee. Genuine service is unconditional; if there is a desire for profit or a specific return, it is not spiritual devotion but a mere commercial transaction.

अर्थ: जो व्यक्ति ईश्वर के प्रेम रूपी प्याले को पीना चाहता है, उसे अपने अहंकार रूपी सिर को दक्षिणा के रूप में अर्पित करना होगा। जो व्यक्ति लोभ और मोह में बंधा है, वह अपना अहंकार त्याग नहीं सकता, इसलिए वह केवल प्रेम का नाम लेता है, उसे वास्तव में अनुभव नहीं करता।

Meaning: Whoever wishes to drink from the cup of Divine Love must offer their head—the symbol of ego—as a gift. The greedy, bound by attachment and self-interest, cannot surrender this ego; thus, they merely utter the word 'love' without ever tasting its true essence.
