Meaning: True mental and spiritual coolness is realized only when a state of absolute equanimity is integrated within the self. When one renounces the internal poisons of anger, jealousy, and hatred, remaining untainted and poison-free, all forms of suffering naturally vanish from their existence.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that the harsh and piercing words of malicious people cannot unsettle a saint or a self-realized soul. Just as a bolt of lightning striking the vast ocean cannot burn it or diminish its essence, a person with a steady, centered mind remains untouched by external criticisms and verbal assaults.

Meaning: Kabir explains that when a person's intellect becomes corrupted by malice, it transforms into a bow that launches arrows of harsh and crooked speech. These verbal arrows, when fired into the ears of others, do not merely wound the listener but inflict profound spiritual and psychological agony upon the speaker's own entire being.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that the only true essence or spiritual word is that which is imparted by a realized Guru. He expresses total surrender to such a teacher, for the wisdom received is an eternal bond that liberates the disciple from ignorance and anchors them in the ultimate truth, remaining inseparable even beyond the physical plane.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that only the one who listens attentively to the Truth, learns its essence, and contemplates it deeply can experience true spiritual bliss. Those who merely grasp words or recite scriptures without internalizing their meaning derive no real benefit; they are like someone trying to hold iron without understanding its nature, failing to forge it into anything useful.

Meaning: Time and death hover incessantly above our heads, yet the soul remains oblivious due to deep-seated ignorance. Kabir asserts that only by grasping the 'Shabad' (the divine word or spiritual vibration) transmitted by a true Guru can the soul be liberated from the terror of death and the endless cycle of rebirth.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that all external rituals, occult practices, and mechanical incantations are illusions. He warns the world against being deceived by these superficialities. Without the realization of the 'Essential Word' or the inner Truth, a human remains as a crow—blinded by ignorance—and can never evolve into a swan of spiritual wisdom.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that the world is ensnared in the web of karma. People believe that liberation is achieved through external rituals like chanting, austerity, worship, and meditation. However, true liberation comes from the realization of the 'Shabd' (the Divine Word/Inner Sound), which remains unrecognized by those blinded by superficial religious practices.

Meaning: Kabir suggests that one should speak words that are devoid of ego and pride. When speech is uttered with humility and genuine love, it acts as a soothing balm that brings peace and coolness to the listener, while simultaneously purifying and calming the heart of the speaker.

Meaning: Kabir urges the seeker to utter that sacred Word or Sound which eradicates all suffering. The vibration that extinguishes the burning heat of worldly agony and brings a profound inner coolness is the true essence of reality and the ultimate spiritual truth.
