Meaning: Kabir observes that a crow cannot steal one's wealth, nor can a cuckoo bestow riches upon anyone. The true treasure is not material gold but the sweetness of speech. By speaking kindly, the cuckoo wins over the entire world, whereas the crow remains shunned due to its harsh voice.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that one who attains the Divine Word (the unstruck sound) and maintains a constant, unwavering awareness of it, successfully reaches the celestial court of the Absolute. There, the seeker discovers their true essence—the eternal Soul—which has always resided in that sacred presence.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that there is no wealth greater than the 'Shabd' (the Divine Word or spiritual knowledge), provided one understands its true essence. While diamonds can be acquired through monetary exchange, the value of the spiritual Word is immeasurable and transcends all worldly scales of commerce.

Meaning: True saints remain eternally content and contemplate the profound distinctions and hidden mysteries within the Sacred Word. Through the transformative grace and radiance of the Satguru, they attain a natural humility and a gentle disposition, which constitutes the very essence of their spiritual realization.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that those who have mastered their tongue—bringing their speech under absolute discipline—have effectively conquered the entire world. Without this restraint, only flaws and spiritual impurities arise, a truth echoed by all the wise saints and enlightened souls.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that merely claiming to be immersed in divine love or spiritual longing is insufficient. True attachment or union with the Divine is only realized when the 'other'—the sense of duality and the ego—is completely eradicated, leaving only the singular, absolute reality.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that a true devotee or 'Harijan' is not one who merely claims spiritual status or uses speech to harm others, but one whose tongue abstains from violence and whose consciousness remains perpetually anchored in the wisdom and contemplative insights imparted by the Guru.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that just as one levels hills and mounds to create a flat plain, a seeker must demolish the elevations of ego and mental distortions. Only the one who can flatten these internal barriers can truly walk the path of the 'Shabd'—the primordial, formless sound of liberation.

Meaning: The divine word or truth cannot be attained through mere noise, loud proclamations, or external rituals. Just as only a skilled jeweler can discern the true value of a diamond, only a person with inner discernment and spiritual readiness can recognize and realize the profound essence of the Eternal Word.

Meaning: Kabir observes that while everyone speaks and uses words incessantly, few pause to contemplate the profound power and consequence of those words. He asserts that one word can act as a cooling balm, bringing peace and healing, while another can act as a scorching fire, causing irreparable destruction to the spirit.
