(Inner Strength) — Kabir Dohas

Meaning: A true warrior is one who never abandons the battlefield and fights resolutely amidst two opposing forces. Such a soul harbors neither the longing for life nor the fear of death, remaining entirely absorbed in the duty of the present struggle.

Meaning: The celestial drum of the void has sounded, echoing in the ears of those who destroy the ego. This is the clarion call of spiritual awakening. The brave seekers of Truth perceive this sound as an invitation to liberation and rejoice, whereas the cowards, shackled by attachment and fear, are overwhelmed by the intensity of this truth and perish in their own delusions.

Meaning: If you have claimed the title of a 'brave warrior' for yourself, why do you now succumb to fear? The true mark of a hero is to remain steadfast in the open field of battle, facing the arrows of adversity head-on without flinching.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that a true seeker must engage in a spiritual battle within themselves to annihilate the ego. If one does not slay this internal pride, they are condemned to suffer the 'death' of worldly disappointments and mental anguish a hundred times a day, trapped in a cycle of perpetual emotional instability.

Meaning: Just as oil is inherently present within the sesame seed and fire resides dormant within the flint stone, the Divine resides within your own being. The only requirement is for you to awaken from the slumber of ignorance and realize this immanent truth.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that the company of a true saint or an enlightened soul is invaluable. When one seeks the companionship of such a person with genuine love and devotion, the miseries of life, mental turmoil, and spiritual degradation are washed away, ultimately cultivating a refined intellect and divine wisdom within the seeker.

Meaning: Kabir urges the seeker never to abandon the shelter and refuge of the Formless Ram (the Divine). He illustrates this with the metaphor of iron: just as a piece of iron remains resilient and endures countless heavy blows because of its inherent strength, a soul anchored in the Divine remains unshaken and steadfast despite the relentless onslaught of worldly suffering and adversity.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that the true warrior is not one who battles external enemies, but one who engages in the internal struggle against the mind. He who conquers the five sensory distractions and the internal fragments of the ego obliterates all duality, finally realizing the singular, non-dual Truth.

Meaning: Kabir posits that the world is an expansive ocean of illusion where humans inevitably drown due to ignorance. The only way to navigate this perilous existence is to hold the hand of a True Guru, whose spiritual guidance ensures protection across all terrains of existence, whether water or land.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that the seeker who remains steadfast in the presence of the Divine and endures the rigorous trials and tribulations of the spiritual path is truly blessed. Such a soul is willing to sacrifice millions of fleeting worldly pleasures for a single moment of spiritual longing or suffering, recognizing that this 'pain' is the catalyst for ultimate liberation.
