अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि यह भौतिक संसार सेमल के फूल की तरह है, जो दिखने में अत्यंत आकर्षक और लाल होता है, लेकिन वास्तव में उसमें कोई सुगंध या स्थायी गुण नहीं होता। मनुष्य इस दुनिया के क्षणभंगुर आकर्षणों में इतना खो जाता है कि वह अपने वास्तविक आध्यात्मिक स्वरूप और ईश्वर के शाश्वत सत्य को पूरी तरह भुला बैठता है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that this material world is akin to the Semal (silk-cotton) flower, which appears strikingly vibrant and alluring but possesses no fragrance or enduring essence. Meaning: Seeing the gardener approach, the flower-buds cry out in apprehension. They observe that she has already plucked all the fully bloomed flowers, and now, they realize their own turn is imminent. अर्थ: यह दोहा जीवन की नश्वरता और अहंकार की व्यर्थता को दर्शाता है। मिट्टी कुम्हार से कहती है कि आज तुम मुझे अपने पैरों तले कुचल रहे हो और मुझ पर अपना प्रभुत्व जमा रहे हो, लेकिन समय का चक्र ऐसा घूमेगा कि एक दिन तुम इसी मिट्टी में मिल जाओगे और मैं तुम्हें अपने भीतर समा लूंगी।

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि इस संसार में जो भी आया है, उसे एक दिन जाना ही होगा, चाहे वह एक शक्तिशाली राजा हो, एक अत्यंत निर्धन व्यक्ति हो या एक वैरागी फकीर। मृत्यु अटल है, परंतु मृत्यु के बाद की स्थिति व्यक्ति के कर्मों पर निर्भर करती है; कोई मोक्ष के सिंहासन पर आरूढ़ होता है, तो कोई अपने मोह और पापों की बेड़ियों में जकड़ा रहता है।

Meaning: The human body is described as a cage with ten gates, within which resides the bird-like soul. Kabir suggests that marveling at how the soul remains within the body or feeling bewildered by its departure at death are both reflections of spiritual ignorance and worldly attachment.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जब मैं संसार के अज्ञान और उसकी व्यथा को देखकर रोता हूँ, तो कोई मेरे लिए नहीं रोता। लेकिन जब मैं गहराई से विचार करता हूँ, तो मुझे बोध होता है कि मनुष्य ने अपने जीवन में जो शब्द (कर्म और विचार) बोए हैं, उसे वही फसल काटनी पड़ती है।

अर्थ: कबीर दास जी चेतावनी देते हैं कि जो व्यक्ति आध्यात्मिक अज्ञानता की नींद में सोया हुआ है और ईश्वर के स्मरण से विमुख है, वह व्यर्थ में समय गँवा रहा है। जब मृत्यु का समय आएगा और यमराज उसे ले जाएंगे, तो उसकी सारी बाहरी तैयारी, अहंकार और सांसारिक साधन वैसे ही बेकार रह जाएंगे जैसे बिना तलवार की खाली म्यान।

Meaning: Kabir warns that the person slumbering in the sleep of spiritual ignorance, neglecting the remembrance of the Divine, is wasting precious time. When the moment of death arrives and the Lord of Death claims the soul, all outward preparations, ego-driven achievements, and worldly possessions will remain useless, much like a scabbard left behind without its sword.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि मनुष्य का जन्म अत्यंत दुर्लभ है और यह शरीर बार-बार नहीं मिलता। जिस प्रकार वृक्ष से एक बार पत्ता गिर जाए, तो वह दोबारा कभी उस डाली से नहीं जुड़ता, उसी प्रकार मृत्यु के पश्चात यह भौतिक शरीर पुनः प्राप्त करना अत्यंत कठिन है, अतः इस अवसर को व्यर्थ न गंवाएं।
