कबीर के दोहे (Kabir's Couplets)

अर्थ: कबीर दास जी चेतावनी देते हैं कि जो शिष्य या साधक अपने सद्गुरु द्वारा दिए गए 'शब्द' (दिव्य ज्ञान या मंत्र) की मर्यादा को लांघकर अन्य बाहरी रास्तों या सांसारिक आश्रयों की तलाश करता है, वह अंततः विनाश और समय (काल) के चक्र में फंस जाता है। सत्य केवल गुरु-तत्व के अनुशासन में है।

Meaning: Kabir warns that a seeker who bypasses or disregards the 'Shabd' (the divine word or spiritual instruction) bestowed by the True Guru to seek refuge elsewhere will inevitably encounter 'Kaal' (the destructive force of time and death). True liberation exists only within the discipline of the Guru's guidance.

अर्थ: एक सच्चा ज्ञानी वह है जिसके भीतर अहंकार का लेशमात्र भी नहीं होता और जो समस्त सृष्टि के प्रति निस्वार्थ प्रेम और करुणा रखता है। जो परमात्मा के सत्य को जान लेता है, वह हर जीव में उसी ईश्वर का अंश देखता है और सभी का आदर भाव के साथ सम्मान करता है।

Meaning: A true knower of truth is devoid of ego and harbors unconditional love for all beings. One who realizes the Eternal Truth perceives the Divine presence in every living entity, treating everyone with profound respect, humility, and an affectionate heart.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि आध्यात्मिक ज्ञान और मोक्ष का संपूर्ण खजाना गुरु के पास उपलब्ध है, परंतु साधक उसे केवल अपने प्रारब्ध और पात्रता के अनुसार ही प्राप्त कर सकता है। यदि मन पूर्णतः समर्पित सेवक बनकर गुरु के चरणों में विलीन हो जाए, तो वह परम सत्य को पा लेता है।

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि मनुष्य को अपने चित्त में केवल ईश्वर के वास्तविक लक्षणों को धारण करना चाहिए और उन सभी बाहरी, मिथ्या लक्षणों का त्याग कर देना चाहिए जो भ्रम पैदा करते हैं। पूर्ण जागरूकता और समान ध्यान के साथ, साधक को अपने गुरु के चरणों में समर्पित हो जाना चाहिए, क्योंकि वही वास्तविक ज्ञान का मार्ग है।

Meaning: Kabir instructs the seeker to anchor their consciousness solely in the true attributes of the Divine while renouncing all superficial, illusory traits that lead to distraction. अर्थ: कबीर दास जी कहते हैं कि एक सच्चा साधक वही है जो अपने अहंकार को त्यागकर पूरी तरह से गुरु की आज्ञा का पालन करता है। सांसारिक मोह-माया और व्यर्थ के कार्यों को छोड़कर, जब शिष्य गुरु के चरणों में पूर्ण समर्पण के साथ नतमस्तक होता है, तभी उसे वास्तविक ज्ञान और मोक्ष की प्राप्ति होती है।

Meaning: Kabir suggests that a true seeker is one who abandons their ego and aligns themselves entirely with the guidance of the Guru. By letting go of worldly distractions and trivial pursuits, and offering unconditional surrender at the feet of the spiritual master, the disciple unlocks the gateway to ultimate truth and liberation.

अर्थ: इस दोहे में कबीर उस विरोधाभासी स्थिति का वर्णन कर रहे हैं जहाँ एक मुक्त आत्मा सांसारिक बंधनों में बंधी प्रतीत होती है, और एक बंधन में जकड़ा हुआ व्यक्ति आध्यात्मिक बोध से मुक्त हो जाता है। जो व्यक्ति कर्म तो करता है परंतु स्वयं को कर्ता नहीं मानता, वही वास्तव में ईश्वर का सच्चा सेवक या दास कहलाता है।

Meaning: In this couplet, Kabir describes a paradoxical state where a free soul appears bound by worldly ties, while one entangled in bondage becomes liberated through spiritual awakening. अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जो व्यक्ति निरंतर सत्य ज्ञान (परमात्मा के वास्तविक स्वरूप) में लीन रहता है, वह संसार के सभी सांसारिक और मानसिक बंधनों को काट देता है। ऐसा मुक्त आत्मा वाला व्यक्ति इतना शक्तिशाली हो जाता है कि स्वयं मृत्यु या समय (काल) भी उसके सामने नतमस्तक रहता है और उसे स्पर्श नहीं कर पाता।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that the individual who remains perpetually immersed in True Knowledge (the realization of the Absolute) shatters all worldly and psychological shackles. Such a liberated soul attains a state of being so transcendent that even Time or Death (Kaal), the ultimate devourer, stands before them with folded hands in reverence and submission.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि किसी भी जीव को मानसिक या शारीरिक कष्ट नहीं देना चाहिए, चाहे वह व्यक्ति आपके अधीन हो या आपसे निम्न स्थिति में हो। यदि आपने किसी को दुख पहुँचाया है, तो बार-बार उससे क्षमा मांगें और अपने अहंकार को त्याग कर विनम्रता अपनाएं, क्योंकि यही सच्ची मानवता और भक्ति का मार्ग है।

Meaning: Kabir advises against causing distress or suffering to any living being, regardless of their social standing or your power over them. If one has caused pain to another, they must repeatedly seek forgiveness and bind themselves in humility, for the annihilation of the ego through apology is the only path to true spiritual liberation.

अर्थ: वह अवस्था अत्यंत पवित्र और निर्मल है जहाँ मनुष्य समस्त सांसारिक कामनाओं से मुक्त हो जाता है और केवल परमात्मा के चरणों की अभिलाषा रखता है। तीर्थ यात्रा की इच्छा केवल वही करते हैं जो अभी भी मोह में हैं; वास्तविक भक्त वह है जो स्वयं को ईश्वर के चरणों में समर्पित कर दे।

Meaning: The state of a person who is free from all worldly desires is pure and pristine, for their only longing is for the Divine presence. Those who crave pilgrimages to holy sites are still bound by desire; the true devotee is one who has completely surrendered their ego to the Divine.

अर्थ: साधक सुख और दुख दोनों को समान रूप से स्वीकार करता है और अपनी आध्यात्मिक यात्रा में विचलित नहीं होता। वह बाहरी दुनिया के किसी भी अन्य प्रभाव या मोह-माया के रंग में नहीं रंगता, क्योंकि वह पूरी तरह से सतगुरु के ज्ञान और दिव्य प्रेम के रंग में रंगा हुआ है।

Meaning: The seeker endures both pleasure and pain with equanimity, never abandoning the path of spiritual discipline. They remain untouched by the fleeting colors of worldly attachments or external influences, for they are completely permeated by the eternal hue of the True Guru's wisdom and divine love.
