कबीर के दोहे (Kabir's Couplets)

अर्थ: मनुष्य अपनी पूरी जीवन यात्रा को सांसारिक इच्छाओं और इंद्रिय सुखों के जाल में उलझकर व्यर्थ कर देता है। जब अंत समय आता है या बोध होता है, तब केवल पछतावा शेष रहता है। कबीर कहते हैं कि अब विलाप करने से कुछ नहीं होगा; इसके बजाय अपने कर्मों का विश्लेषण करें और सत्य को पहचानें।

Meaning: A human spends their entire existence entangled in the web of sensory desires and worldly cravings, effectively wasting the precious gift of birth. When the realization of mortality or spiritual void arrives, only regret remains. Kabir asserts that repentance is futile now; instead, one must reflect upon their own actions and the nature of their deeds.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि सज्जन व्यक्ति सोने के समान होते हैं; यदि वे किसी परिस्थिति में टूट भी जाएं या बिखर जाएं, तो उन्हें पुनः जोड़ा जा सकता है और उनकी चमक बनी रहती है। इसके विपरीत, दुष्ट व्यक्ति कुम्हार के मिट्टी के घड़े जैसा होता है, जो एक ही प्रहार से पूरी तरह चकनाचूर हो जाता है और फिर कभी नहीं जुड़ता।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that virtuous people are like gold; even if they are broken or fragmented by circumstances, they can be fused back together a hundred times without losing their intrinsic value. Conversely, a wicked person is like a clay pot made by a potter; a single blow is enough to shatter them completely, leaving them beyond repair.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि वास्तविक मृत्यु वह है जिसमें मनुष्य का अहंकार पूरी तरह समाप्त हो जाए। इसके विपरीत, सांसारिक मोह-माया और इच्छाओं के कारण होने वाले मानसिक कष्टों की मृत्यु हम दिन में सैकड़ों बार अनुभव करते हैं, जो व्यर्थ और पीड़ादायक है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that true death is the dissolution of the ego. In contrast, he questions why we choose to suffer the 'death' of worldly anxieties and emotional turmoil hundreds of times a day, which is a futile cycle of mental agony.

अर्थ: हे साधकों, इस संसार रूपी युद्धक्षेत्र में अहंकार का विनाश हो रहा है; इसलिए अपने गर्व और अभिमान को त्याग दो। यदि तुम इस झूठे सांसारिक अहंकार को नहीं छोड़ते, तो तुम्हें इस मानसिक और भावनात्मक पीड़ा को दिन में सौ बार मरने जैसा अनुभव करना पड़ेगा।

Meaning: O seekers, in the battlefield of existence, the ego is being dismantled; therefore, surrender your pride. If you cling to the delusions of worldly identity, you will suffer a thousand deaths every day through the agony of attachment, loss, and the endless cycle of desire and disappointment.

अर्थ: बहता हुआ जल सदैव स्वच्छ और पवित्र रहता है, जबकि रुका हुआ या जमा हुआ पानी धीरे-धीरे गंदा और दूषित हो जाता है। इसी प्रकार, जो व्यक्ति सांसारिक मोह-माया और आसक्तियों से मुक्त होकर निरंतर आध्यात्मिक प्रवाह में रहता है, वह संसार में रहते हुए भी किसी भी पाप या बुराई से अछूता रहता है।

Meaning: Flowing water remains eternally pure and crystal clear, whereas stagnant water inevitably becomes murky and contaminated. Similarly, a realized soul who remains in a state of constant spiritual flow, detached from worldly attachments, moves through the world without being stained by its impurities or vices.

अर्थ: आकाश रूपी नगाड़ा बज चुका है और अब युद्ध का शंखनाद हो गया है। लक्ष्य पर प्रहार हो रहे हैं और आध्यात्मिक योद्धाओं ने माया के क्षेत्र को साफ कर दिया है। इस परम सत्य के साक्षात्कार और अहंकार के विलीनीकरण की प्रक्रिया में, मुझे अब उस 'मृत्यु' का मोह है जो वास्तव में जन्म और मृत्यु के चक्र से मुक्ति है।

Meaning: The celestial drum of the sky has sounded, signaling the commencement of the ultimate spiritual battle. Arrows of divine truth are striking their marks, and the brave seekers have cleared the field of worldly illusions. In this state of absolute surrender, I long for that 'death' which is not the end of the body, but the annihilation of the ego and the end of the cycle of rebirth.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि वास्तविक वीर वही है जो मोक्ष या आत्म-साक्षात्कार की प्राप्ति के लिए संघर्ष करता है। वह साधक जो सत्य की खोज में अपने अहंकार और शारीरिक मोह का पूर्ण त्याग कर दे, और अंत तक अपने आध्यात्मिक मार्ग से विचलित न हो, वही सच्चा योद्धा है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that a true warrior is not one who fights earthly battles, but one who struggles for liberation (Mukti). The genuine seeker is he who remains steadfast in the pursuit of Truth, even if he is shattered piece by piece, refusing to abandon the battlefield of spiritual awakening.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि आत्मा के आंतरिक स्तर पर कोई भेदभाव या द्वैत नहीं है, जबकि बाहरी दुनिया में हम अनेकता और अंतर देखते हैं। जो व्यक्ति अपने भीतर झांककर उस सत्य को पहचान लेता है, उसे समझ आता है कि आंतरिक और बाहरी जगत वास्तव में एक ही चेतना का विस्तार हैं।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that within the core of the soul, there is no division or duality, although the external world presents a facade of endless multiplicity. He suggests that once a seeker realizes the truth within, the perceived boundary between the inner self and the outer universe dissolves into a singular, unified existence.

अर्थ: जिस प्रकार कुमुदनी जल में निवास करती है और चंद्रमा आकाश में, उसी प्रकार ईश्वर या सत्य हर व्यक्ति को उसकी अपनी मानसिक अवस्था, श्रद्धा और आंतरिक भावना के अनुसार ही प्राप्त होता है। सत्य सर्वव्यापी है, परंतु हमारी दृष्टि ही उसे सीमित करती है।

Meaning: Just as the water lily dwells in the water and the moon resides in the vast sky, the Divine or Truth manifests to every individual according to their own inner disposition, faith, and emotional longing. Truth is omnipresent, but it is our own perception that defines how we experience it.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जो स्वयं को ज्ञानी मानते हैं, वे अक्सर वास्तविक ज्ञान को भूल जाते हैं क्योंकि वे सत्य को बाहर खोजते हैं। जबकि वह दिव्य स्वरूप और अनुपम सत्य उनके अपने भीतर ही स्थित है, वे उसे संसार की बाहरी वस्तुओं और कर्मकांडों में ढूंढते रहते हैं।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that those who claim to be learned often lose the essence of true knowledge because they seek truth externally. While the divine form and the incomparable reality reside within their own being, they foolishly search for it in the external world and ritualistic practices.
