अर्थ: इस दोहे में कबीर कहते हैं कि यदि व्यक्ति अपने कुल की झूठी मर्यादा और सामाजिक प्रतिष्ठा के अहंकार को त्याग दे और सच्चे गुरु के उपदेशों को पूरी तरह अपना ले, तो उसके जीवन के सभी आध्यात्मिक और सांसारिक कार्य सिद्ध हो जाते हैं। यह पूर्ण विश्वास और समर्पण की मांग करता है।

Meaning: Realize the truth only when the union with the Divine is achieved and the fever of worldly attachment vanishes. When the fluctuations of joy and sorrow no longer grip the soul, and the mind remains undisturbed by external extremes, the individual becomes their own teacher, for the inner light of consciousness has awakened.

अर्थ: हे नासमझ मनुष्य, बाहरी सहारे या झूठे अवलंबों पर भरोसा मत करो, क्योंकि इसमें केवल हानि और भ्रम है। जब तुम इन सांसारिक और मानसिक टेक को त्याग देते हो, तभी तुम्हें उस असली 'माणिक' यानी आत्म-साक्षात्कार या परमात्मा की प्राप्ति होती है, जैसा कि सच्चे गुरु के प्रमाणित शब्दों में कहा गया है।

Meaning: O foolish soul, do not lean upon external supports or false crutches, for there is only loss and delusion in such reliance. Only when you abandon these worldly and mental dependencies do you find the true 'ruby'—the realization of the Self or the Divine—as attested by the proven words of the True Guru.
