कबीर के दोहे (Kabir's Couplets)

अर्थ: जब साधक स्वयं को उस परम तत्व से मिला हुआ अनुभव करता है, तब वास्तविक ज्ञान का प्रकाश प्रज्वलित होता है। जब वह अज्ञान और भ्रम के पुराने बर्तनों (मानसिक धारणाओं) को पूरी तरह तोड़ देता है, तब वह सांसारिक मोह-माया से मुक्त होकर एक अद्वितीय और शांत अवस्था में स्थित हो जाता है।

Meaning: When the seeker realizes their union with the Supreme Truth, the light of true knowledge dawns. By shattering the vessel of illusion—the rigid mental constructs and false identities—one transcends the mundane cycle of duality and attains a state of singular, liberated existence.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि मैंने अपना सब कुछ—अपना मन, अपनी आत्मा और अपना यह भौतिक शरीर—परमात्मा को समर्पित कर दिया है। अब मेरे पास देने के लिए कुछ भी शेष नहीं बचा है, क्योंकि मैंने स्वयं को पूरी तरह से मिटा दिया है।

Meaning: Kabir declares that he has surrendered everything—his mind, his consciousness, and his physical body—to the Divine. Now, there remains nothing left to give, for he has completely dissolved his individual identity into the Absolute.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि वह व्यक्ति जो दूसरों की सत्यवाणी को स्वीकार नहीं करता और केवल अपने स्वयं के गढ़े हुए विचारों और अहंकारपूर्ण धारणाओं पर अड़ा रहता है, उसे सुधारना असंभव है। जब मन केवल बाहरी दिखावे और अन्य मतों के प्रति आसक्त हो जाता है, तो वह सत्य के मार्ग से भटक जाता है।

Meaning: Kabir observes that a person who refuses to acknowledge the truth spoken by others and clings stubbornly to their own fabricated notions and ego-driven beliefs is beyond guidance. When the mind is captivated by external dogmas and foreign ideologies, it loses its way toward the ultimate truth.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि वह युक्ति या तरीका अत्यंत अद्भुत और अद्वितीय है जिसमें एक साधक को सत्संग और गुरु के ज्ञान का साथ मिलता है। लेकिन उससे भी अधिक अद्भुत और श्रेष्ठ वह स्थिति है जब शिष्य पूरी तरह से अपने सतगुरु के वचनों को सुनने और उन्हें आत्मसात करने के लिए तत्पर रहता है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that while the method of seeking knowledge through the company of the virtuous and the guidance of a teacher is incomparable, there is an even more profound excellence in the act of total surrender—where the seeker listens with absolute presence and devotion to the words of the True Guru.

अर्थ: इस दोहे में कबीर कहते हैं कि केवल सतगुरु का उपदेश ही वह वास्तविक मार्ग है जो मुक्ति दिला सकता है। न तो देवता, न मनुष्य और न ही महान ऋषि-मुनि अपने आप में उद्धार करने वाले हैं। यहाँ तक कि सृष्टि के रचयिता ब्रह्मा, पालनकर्ता विष्णु और संहारक शिव भी उस परम सत्य के अधीन हैं जिसे केवल गुरु की कृपा और ज्ञान से ही समझा जा सकता है।

Meaning: In this couplet, Kabir asserts that only the teachings of the True Guru provide the actual path to liberation. Neither celestial beings, nor ordinary humans, nor even the most revered sages possess the inherent power to deliver the soul. Even the supreme trinity—Brahma the Creator, Vishnu the Preserver, and Shiva the Destroyer—are viewed within the context of the cosmic play, while the ultimate realization is accessible only through the grace and wisdom of the Satguru.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि मुझे डर है कि मनुष्य इस संसार रूपी सागर को पार नहीं कर पाएगा। क्योंकि वह लोभ रूपी नदी की तीव्र धारा में पूरी तरह डूब चुका है, और जो लालच के प्रवाह में बह गया, वह मोक्ष की ओर नहीं बढ़ सकता।

Meaning: Kabir expresses a profound concern that humanity will fail to cross the ocean of existence. He posits that the current of greed is so overwhelming that the individual is swept away, making spiritual liberation impossible for one drowned in desire.

अर्थ: कबीर दास जी कहते हैं कि यदि आप अपने जीवन के वास्तविक उद्देश्य और आध्यात्मिक कल्याण की इच्छा रखते हैं, तो सच्चे संतों की खोज करें। ऐसे गुरु या संत का साथ ही इस संसार के जन्म-मरण के चक्र (भव) के बंधनों को मिटा सकता है और आत्मा को इस अंतहीन आवागमन से मुक्ति दिलाकर परम शांति की ओर ले जा सकता है।

Meaning: Kabir urges the seeker to search for true saints if they truly desire the fulfillment of their life's ultimate purpose. Only through the guidance of a genuine spiritual master can one erase the karmic imprints of worldly existence and terminate the agonizing cycle of birth and death, finally attaining liberation from the repetitive flow of existence.

अर्थ: इस दोहे में कबीर कहते हैं कि यदि व्यक्ति अपने कुल की झूठी मर्यादा और सामाजिक प्रतिष्ठा के अहंकार को त्याग दे और सच्चे गुरु के उपदेशों को पूरी तरह अपना ले, तो उसके जीवन के सभी आध्यात्मिक और सांसारिक कार्य सिद्ध हो जाते हैं। यह पूर्ण विश्वास और समर्पण की मांग करता है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that one who places absolute trust in the teachings of the True Guru and renounces the illusions of ritualistic actions and worldly attachments is the one who successfully crosses the treacherous ocean of worldly existence to attain liberation.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि यह संसार एक विशाल सागर की तरह है जिसमें मनुष्य माया और अज्ञानता के कारण डूबता रहता है। इस भवसागर से पार पाने का एकमात्र उपाय एक सच्चे गुरु का हाथ थामना है, जो आध्यात्मिक मार्गदर्शन के माध्यम से व्यक्ति की हर परिस्थिति में रक्षा करता है।

Meaning: Kabir posits that the world is an expansive ocean of illusion where humans inevitably drown due to ignorance.
