कबीर के दोहे (Kabir's Couplets)

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि यदि मनुष्य अपने जीवन में 'राम नाम' (परमात्मा के स्मरण) का बीज बोता है और उसे भक्ति से सींचता है, तो वह एक विशाल वृक्ष की तरह फलदायी होता है। अंत समय में यदि शरीर सूखकर गिर भी जाए, तो भी वह आध्यात्मिक निवेश कभी व्यर्थ नहीं जाता; उसकी सार्थकता शाश्वत रहती है।

Meaning: Kabir suggests that if a person plants the seed of 'Ram Naam' (divine remembrance) and nurtures it with devotion, it grows into a flourishing tree. Even when the physical body eventually withers and dies in the end, the spiritual fruit of that practice never vanishes; it remains an eternal asset for the soul.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि वह दिव्य चिंतामणि (मनोकामना पूर्ण करने वाला रत्न) हमारे अपने मन के भीतर ही निवास करता है। जब हम उस आंतरिक प्रकाश को अपने चित्त में जागृत कर लेते हैं, तब हम बिना किसी सांसारिक चिंता के भी उस परम सत्य का चिंतन करते हैं। यही ईश्वर की वास्तविक वाणी और संदेश है कि शांति बाहर नहीं, भीतर है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that the 'Chintamani'—the mythical wish-fulfilling gem—resides within the human mind. When one brings this inner awareness into their conscious focus, they engage in a 'worry-less worry,' which is the meditative contemplation of the Divine. This is the true word of the Lord: that the source of all fulfillment is internal, not external.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि तुम व्यर्थ में बाहरी दुनिया या अन्य लोगों की ओर क्यों देख रहे हो और किस बात की चिंता कर रहे हो? वह परमात्मा, जो अंतर्यामी और सर्वव्यापी है, वह सब कुछ संभाल रहा है; इसलिए तुम्हें उन सांसारिक चिंताओं को पालने की आवश्यकता नहीं है जो तुम्हारी शांति भंग करती हैं।

Meaning: Kabir asks why you gaze outward at the world and harbor anxieties. He reminds us that the Divine, who is the inner-knower and omnipresent, manages all existence; therefore, there is no need to cling to worldly worries that disrupt your inner peace.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जो हमारे कर्मों का लेखा-जोखा नियति या ईश्वर द्वारा निर्धारित किया जा चुका है, उसे अब बदला नहीं जा सकता। जिस प्रकार एक सटीक माप में न तो एक मासा कम होता है और न ही एक तिल बढ़ता है, वैसे ही प्रारब्ध का फल अटल है, चाहे मनुष्य उसे बदलने के लिए करोड़ों उपाय क्यों न कर ले।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that the ledger of our actions and the resulting destiny have been inscribed by the Divine and cannot be altered now. Just as a precise measurement neither decreases by a 'masa' nor increases by a 'til' (tiny seed), the fruits of one's destiny remain absolute, regardless of the millions of efforts one makes to circumvent them.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि व्यर्थ की चिंता छोड़ कर निश्चिंत हो जाओ, क्योंकि ईश्वर सर्वशक्तिमान है। इस संसार के पशु, पक्षी और छोटे-से-छोटे जीव-जंतुओं का पालन-पोषण बिना किसी लिखित ग्रंथ या योजना के स्वतः हो रहा है, तो मनुष्य को अपनी चिंता क्यों करनी चाहिए?

Meaning: Kabir urges us to abandon anxiety and remain carefree, for the Divine is All-Powerful. If the countless animals, birds, and tiny insects of this earth are sustained and nourished without the aid of any written scripture or calculated plan, why should a human being succumb to worry?

अर्थ: एक सच्चा संत या आध्यात्मिक व्यक्ति भौतिक वस्तुओं का संचय नहीं करता और केवल उतना ही ग्रहण करता है जितना जीवन निर्वाह के लिए आवश्यक हो। वह निरंतर परमात्मा के सानिध्य में रहता है, और जब भी उसे किसी चीज़ की आवश्यकता होती है, वह ईश्वरीय कृपा से उसे प्राप्त कर लेता है।

Meaning: A true saint or realized soul does not bind themselves to the burden of accumulation, taking only what is sufficient for sustenance. By remaining in constant face-to-face communion with the Divine, they exist in a state of flow where the Universe provides exactly what is needed, wherever and whenever it is required.

अर्थ: जब हृदय पूरी तरह से उस परमात्मा (राम) में लीन हो जाता है, तो यमराज का भय समाप्त हो जाता है। मुझे अपने इष्ट देव पर पूर्ण विश्वास है कि जो आत्मा ईश्वर के प्रति समर्पित है, वह कभी नरक की यातनाओं या आध्यात्मिक पतन का शिकार नहीं हो सकती।

Meaning: When the heart becomes completely merged with the Divine (Ram), the fear of the Lord of Death (Yama) vanishes. I have absolute faith in my Beloved Lord that a soul surrendered to the Divine can never fall into the depths of hell or spiritual oblivion.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि हे मनुष्य, तू व्यर्थ में क्यों डरता है? जब परमात्मा का हाथ तेरे सिर पर है, तो भय कैसा? एक हाथी अपनी मस्ती में चलता रहता है, उसे परवाह नहीं होती कि पीछे कोई कुत्ता भौंक रहा है या नहीं। इसी प्रकार, ईश्वर की शरण में आए व्यक्ति को दुनिया की आलोचनाओं से डरना नहीं चाहिए।

Meaning: Kabir asks, 'Why do you fear, O human, when the hand of the Divine rests upon your head?' He illustrates this with a metaphor: an elephant, riding in its own majestic strength, remains unmoved by the frantic barking of dogs. Similarly, one who is anchored in God's grace should remain indifferent to the petty criticisms and noise of the world.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जिस प्रकार मधुमक्खी विभिन्न फूलों से मीठा रस एकत्र करती है, वैसे ही मनुष्य संसार के विविध अनुभवों से सीखता है। परंतु, जब तक अहंकार का पूर्ण विसर्जन नहीं होता, तब तक वास्तविक आध्यात्मिक साम्राज्य या शांति प्राप्त नहीं होती। बिना स्वयं को मिटाए, कोई भी व्यक्ति सत्य का दावा नहीं कर सकता।

Meaning: Kabir observes that just as a honeybee gathers sweetness from various blossoms, a seeker gathers wisdom from diverse experiences. However, he emphasizes that no one can claim true spiritual sovereignty or divine union unless they undergo the process of total annihilation of the ego. Without dissolving the 'I', the true kingdom of the soul remains inaccessible.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जब मनुष्य प्रेम रस की महिमा को मानता है और गुणों तथा स्नेह के अहंकार में डूब जाता है, तब वह वास्तव में भ्रमित होता है। यह सारा मोह और लगाव तब तक बना रहता है जब तक मनुष्य स्वयं को इस भौतिक शरीर (देह) के साथ जोड़कर देखता है और शरीर को ही अपनी वास्तविक पहचान मानता है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that when a person prides themselves on the greatness of divine love or boasts of their virtues and affections, they are merely clinging to a facade. All these attachments and delusions persist as long as the individual identifies themselves with the physical body, mistakenly believing that the flesh and bone constitute their true essence.
