समय का महत्व (Value of Time) — Kabir Dohas

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि ईश्वर की असीम कृपा ने मेरे भीतर के सांसारिक मोह और भ्रम को मिटा दिया है। अब जब मुझे सत्य का ज्ञान हो गया है, तो मुझे वे दिन अत्यंत व्यर्थ और दुखद लगते हैं जो मैंने ईश्वर की भक्ति और आत्म-साक्षात्कार के बिना बिताए थे।

Meaning: Kabir proclaims that the grace of the Divine has dissolved the illusions and attachments of the worldly existence. Now that he has awakened to the Truth, he views the days spent in ignorance, devoid of spiritual devotion and self-realization, as wasted and sorrowful.

अर्थ: कबीर दास जी कहते हैं कि यह मानव शरीर अत्यंत क्षणभंगुर है और समय की धारा में पल भर में नष्ट हो सकता है। वे प्रश्न करते हैं कि जब शरीर मिट्टी के कच्चे बर्तन जैसा है, जिसमें पानी (जीवन) भरा है, तो हम इस नश्वरता को भुलाकर कैसे अहंकार में डूबे रह सकते हैं?

Meaning: Kabir asserts that the human body is ephemeral, vanishing in the blink of an eye within the relentless flow of time. He poses a poignant question: if the body is like an unbaked clay pot holding water, how can we remain oblivious to its fragility and cling to the illusions of permanence?

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि मृत्यु (काल) हमारे सिर पर खड़ी है, इसलिए हे मित्र! अब जाग जाओ। जिस व्यक्ति का घर रास्ते में स्थित है, वह कैसे निश्चिंत होकर सो सकता है? यह दोहा हमें जीवन की नश्वरता और आध्यात्मिक जागरूकता की तात्कालिकता की याद दिलाता है।

Meaning: Kabir warns that Time or Death (Kaal) stands poised over our heads; therefore, O friend, awaken from your slumber. One whose house lies directly in the path of a passing storm or a predator cannot sleep in peace. It is a call to recognize the fragility of existence and the urgency of spiritual awakening.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जब व्यक्ति के पास समय और अवसर था, तब उसने सत्य और परमात्मा की पहचान नहीं की। अब जब जीवन के अंत समय की कठिनाइयाँ और मृत्यु रूपी कांटे उसे चारों ओर से घेर चुके हैं, तब जागने या पश्चाताप करने से कोई लाभ नहीं होगा।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that one failed to recognize the Divine Truth when the opportunity was ripe and the path was clear. Now that the thorns of old age, suffering, and inevitable death have surrounded the soul, awakening or repentance is futile, as the window for effortless liberation has closed.

अर्थ: कबीर दास जी कहते हैं कि मनुष्य जीवन में एक छोटे से बीज (इच्छा) को बोता है, लेकिन समय के साथ वह इच्छाओं का एक विशाल जंगल बन जाता है। जब मृत्यु (काल) का समय आता है, तो यह सारा मोह और सांसारिक संचय व्यर्थ हो जाता है और अंततः सब कुछ समाप्त हो जाता है।

Meaning: Kabir explains that a human plants a single small seed of desire, which eventually grows into a vast forest of endless cravings. However, when the inevitable shadow of Death (Kaal) arrives, all these accumulated attachments and worldly pursuits vanish, leaving the soul to face the ultimate void.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जिसने समय रहते अपने जीवन की तैयारी नहीं की और अपने आध्यात्मिक आधार को सुदृढ़ नहीं किया, वह अंततः पछताता है। जब जीवन का संध्याकाल आता है और समय समाप्त हो जाता है, तब चाहकर भी तैयारी करना संभव नहीं होता।

Meaning: Kabir warns that those who fail to prepare their spiritual foundation and align themselves with the Truth while they have the opportunity will find themselves adrift. When the day ends and the final hour arrives, the opportunity for preparation vanishes, leaving only regret.

अर्थ: कबीर दास जी इस दोहे के माध्यम से समय की निरंतरता और जीवन की नश्वरता की चेतावनी दे रहे हैं। वे कहते हैं कि समय हर पल बीत रहा है और जो एक बार मृत्यु के गर्त में समा गया, वह दोबारा इस भौतिक संसार में वापस नहीं लौटता। यह क्षणभंगुरता हमें वर्तमान में जागने का संदेश देती है।

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जीवन का समय फल की तरह पककर बीत चुका है और अब मृत्यु का समय निकट है, जिसे लोग उत्सव या त्योहार समझकर अनदेखा कर रहे हैं। वे चेतावनी देते हैं कि भविष्य की व्यर्थ चिंताओं को त्यागकर, अब अपने भीतर के उस मूल स्रोत की ओर लौटें जहाँ से आप आए हैं।

He urges the seeker to cease their preoccupation with future anxieties and instead call out to the primordial source from which they originated.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि मनुष्य समय की गति और मृत्यु की अनिवार्यता से पूरी तरह अनभिज्ञ है। वह सांसारिक सुखों और भविष्य की योजनाओं में इतना व्यस्त है कि उसे यह अहसास ही नहीं है कि काल (मृत्यु) उसके लिए जाल बुन रहा है। जिस प्रकार एक बाज अचानक तीतर पर हमला करता है, मृत्यु भी बिना किसी पूर्व सूचना के जीवन का अंत कर देती है।

Meaning: Kabir warns that humans are utterly oblivious to the relentless flow of time and the inevitability of death. Engrossed in worldly pleasures and future planning, one fails to realize that Time is silently preparing its trap. Just as a hawk strikes a partridge suddenly and without warning, death descends upon the living unexpectedly, severing the thread of existence.
