अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि एक तीतर पक्षी चंदन की लकड़ी पर जलती आग में बैठा है, जिसे वह शीतलता समझ रहा है। कबीर स्वयं को बिना पंखों के भी आध्यात्मिक अग्नि में जलते हुए पाते हैं, जबकि वे दूसरों से पूछते हैं कि वे (जो बाहरी आडंबरों में लिपटे हैं) किस भ्रम में जल रहे हैं।

Meaning: The Muslim rushes toward the mosque and the Hindu toward the temple, both clinging to their respective external symbols and religious identities. Meanwhile, the 'Alakh' (Invisible/Unknowable) Divine resides within the heart of every being, an infinite presence whose depths and boundaries cannot be measured or reached through outward rituals.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जिस घर में न तो दीन-दुखियों के प्रति करुणा है, न ही संतों और अतिथियों का सत्कार है, वह घर वास्तव में एक श्मशान के समान है। वहाँ यमराज का वास हो चुका है, क्योंकि प्रेम और सेवा के बिना जीवन मृतप्राय है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that a household devoid of compassion for the needy and lacking hospitality toward saints and guests is essentially a cremation ground. In such a place, the God of Death resides, for a life stripped of love and selfless service is a living death.

Real greatness is not found in external wealth, social status, or titles, but is instead rooted in the nobility of one's inner nature, characterized by compassion and kindness.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि इस सृष्टि के रचयिता (परमात्मा) के अतिरिक्त मेरा कोई वास्तविक हितैषी नहीं है। संसार के सभी रिश्ते और संबंध स्वार्थ की डोर से बंधे होते हैं; वे व्यक्ति के गुणों या दोषों को नहीं देखते, बल्कि केवल अपनी जरूरतों और लाभ को देखते हैं। केवल ईश्वर ही है जो बिना किसी स्वार्थ के प्रेम करता है।

अर्थ: कबीर दास जी कहते हैं कि इस संसार की रीति और गति बिल्कुल वैसी ही है जैसे कि भेड़ों के झुंड की होती है। जिस प्रकार यदि एक भेड़ किसी गड्ढे या खाई में गिर जाती है, तो उसके पीछे-पीछे पूरा झुंड बिना सोचे-समझे उसी गड्ढे में कूद पड़ता है, ठीक वैसे ही मनुष्य भी बिना विवेक के दूसरों का अंधानुकरण करते हुए विनाश की ओर अग्रसर होते हैं।

Meaning: Kabir observes that the movement of the world mirrors the behavior of a flock of sheep. Just as the entire flock blindly plunges into a pit if a single sheep falls in, human beings tend to follow the crowd blindly, drifting toward spiritual or moral ruin simply because others are doing so, devoid of individual discernment.
