अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि मैं इस संसार रूपी पर्वतों और जंगलों में भटकता रहा, अपनी आँखों की ज्योति खो दी और बहुत रोया, लेकिन मुझे वह दुर्लभ औषधि नहीं मिली जिससे जीवन को वास्तविक अर्थ मिले और आत्मा का पुनर्जन्म हो सके।

Meaning: Kabir laments that he wandered through the mountains and forests of this material world, weeping and exhausting his sight in the search. He expresses the profound grief of failing to find that rare, spiritual herb—the divine knowledge—which alone can grant true life and liberation to the soul.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि यह पूरी दुनिया अज्ञानता की नींद में सोई हुई है, जहाँ लोग केवल खाने और सोने जैसे शारीरिक सुखों में मग्न हैं और स्वयं को सुखी मानते हैं। इसके विपरीत, कबीर स्वयं को दुखी बताते हैं क्योंकि वे आध्यात्मिक रूप से जाग चुके हैं और संसार की नश्वरता तथा आत्मा के विछोह को देखकर विलाप कर रहे हैं।

अर्थ: यह दोहा आत्मा की उस विस्मृति अवस्था का वर्णन करता है जहाँ जीव अपनी मूल पहचान को भूलकर सांसारिक माया के जाल में फंस गया है। जैसे एक पक्षी आकाश की ऊंचाइयों में उड़कर अपने मूल स्थान को भूल जाता है और परदेस में भटकता है, वैसे ही मनुष्य अपनी दिव्य प्रकृति को भूलकर भौतिक जगत को ही सत्य मान बैठा है, जबकि वह बिना किसी भौतिक साधन के भी उस परम तत्व से जुड़ा था।

Meaning: This couplet describes the state of forgetfulness of the soul, where the living entity, trapped in the web of worldly illusion, has forgotten its original identity. Just as a bird flies high into the sky and wanders into a foreign land, forgetting its home, humans have mistaken the material world for the ultimate truth, forgetting that they were once connected to the Divine Essence without the need for any physical medium.

Meaning: Those who have realized the Supreme Truth have grasped a divine treasure, and their inner tongue now tastes the eternal nectar of bliss. Having attained this unique and peerless jewel of consciousness, the conflicts, desires, and distractions of the material world lose all significance and fade into insignificance.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जिस प्रकार बिना नींव के कोई भवन या महल खड़ा नहीं रह सकता, उसी प्रकार बिना शरीर के (या शारीरिक चेतना के विसर्जन के बिना) परमात्मा का साक्षात्कार संभव नहीं है। जो व्यक्ति इस सत्य को समझने में देरी करता है, वह वास्तव में केवल आलस्य और मोह की सेवा कर रहा है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that just as a grand edifice cannot stand without a solid foundation, the realization of the Divine is impossible without the transcendence of the physical body and its attachments. Meaning: The divine connection is like a necklace of priceless pearls, yet humans have strung it with shards of glass—representing worldly attachments and ego. No matter how much outward effort or ritualistic ornamentation we add to this structure, the fragile glass thread of illusion will inevitably break, leaving the seeker empty.

अर्थ: एक सच्चा संत या आध्यात्मिक व्यक्ति भौतिक वस्तुओं का संचय नहीं करता और केवल उतना ही ग्रहण करता है जितना जीवन निर्वाह के लिए आवश्यक हो। वह निरंतर परमात्मा के सानिध्य में रहता है, और जब भी उसे किसी चीज़ की आवश्यकता होती है, वह ईश्वरीय कृपा से उसे प्राप्त कर लेता है।

Meaning: A true saint or realized soul does not bind themselves to the burden of accumulation, taking only what is sufficient for sustenance. By remaining in constant face-to-face communion with the Divine, they exist in a state of flow where the Universe provides exactly what is needed, wherever and whenever it is required.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जब मनुष्य प्रेम रस की महिमा को मानता है और गुणों तथा स्नेह के अहंकार में डूब जाता है, तब वह वास्तव में भ्रमित होता है। यह सारा मोह और लगाव तब तक बना रहता है जब तक मनुष्य स्वयं को इस भौतिक शरीर (देह) के साथ जोड़कर देखता है और शरीर को ही अपनी वास्तविक पहचान मानता है।
