परमात्मा में विलय (Afterlife) — Kabir Dohas

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जब उन्होंने उस परम सत्य का अनुभव किया, तो स्वर्ग के राजा इंद्र और सृष्टि के रचयिता ब्रह्मा भी आश्चर्यचकित रह गए और गहन चिंतन में डूब गए। कबीर ने बाहरी स्वर्ग और देवताओं के मोह को त्यागकर उस निराकार, अनंत और असीम राम (परम चेतना) की ओर प्रस्थान किया, जो समस्त ब्रह्मांडों से परे है।

Meaning: Kabir proclaims that upon his realization of the Ultimate Truth, even Indra, the king of heaven, and Brahma, the creator of the universe, were struck with wonder and fell into deep contemplation. Kabir bypassed the allure of celestial realms and deities to merge with the formless, infinite, and boundless Ram—the Supreme Consciousness that transcends all created worlds.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि हे राम, मैं आपके द्वार पर आया हूँ ताकि आपसे मिल सकूँ। आप तो सर्वव्यापी हैं और सृष्टि के कण-कण में समाए हुए हैं, लेकिन समस्या यह है कि जब तक मैं अपनी सीमित पहचान में हूँ, मैं आपको नहीं पा सकता, और आप मुझे नहीं पा सकते।

Meaning: Kabir addresses the Divine, stating that he has arrived at the threshold of the Eternal. He acknowledges that while the Divine is omnipresent, permeating every atom of existence, the seeker remains elusive because the ego creates a barrier that prevents the union of the individual soul with the Universal Consciousness.

अर्थ: यह दोहा आत्मा और परमात्मा के संबंध को दर्शाता है। जब एक बूंद समुद्र में गिरती है, तो वह समुद्र का हिस्सा बन जाती है, जिसे हर कोई समझ सकता है। लेकिन जब कोई यह अनुभव करता है कि पूरा अनंत समुद्र उस एक छोटी सी बूंद के भीतर ही समाया हुआ है, तो वह ज्ञान केवल एक अत्यंत दुर्लभ और प्रबुद्ध व्यक्ति को ही प्राप्त होता है।

Meaning: This couplet illustrates the profound relationship between the individual soul and the Universal Consciousness. While everyone understands that a single drop merging into the ocean becomes part of the vast sea, very few realize the inverse paradox: that the entire infinite ocean is contained within a single drop. It speaks to the immanence of the Divine within the self.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि मैं अपने इस भौतिक शरीर को जलाकर उसकी स्याही बना लूँ और अपनी हड्डियों की कलम से ईश्वर (राम) का नाम लिखूँ। यह इस बात का प्रतीक है कि जब तक संपूर्ण अहंकार और शारीरिक आसक्ति पूरी तरह नष्ट नहीं हो जाती, तब तक परमात्मा का वास्तविक साक्षात्कार संभव नहीं है।

Meaning: Kabir declares his intent to burn his physical body to create ink and use his own bones as a pen to write the name of the Divine (Ram). This is a powerful metaphor signifying that only through the total annihilation of the ego and the complete surrender of the physical self can one truly communicate with or reach the Ultimate Truth.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि यह बहुत अच्छा हुआ कि मैं पूरी तरह टूट गया और मेरा अहंकार नष्ट हो गया, जिससे मेरी पुरानी मानसिक अवस्था और झूठी पहचान मिट गई। जैसे बर्फ पिघलकर पानी बन जाती है और अंततः अपनी मूल धारा या सागर में मिल जाती है, वैसे ही मेरा सीमित व्यक्तित्व विलीन होकर उस अनंत परमात्मा में समा गया।

Meaning: Kabir proclaims that it was a blessing to be utterly broken, for in that collapse, the false state of the ego and all previous delusions vanished. Just as ice melts into water and eventually flows back to merge with its original source, the limited individual identity dissolved to unite with the Infinite Divine.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि मेरे भीतर ऐसा कुछ भी नहीं है जिसे मैं वास्तव में 'मेरा' कह सकूँ। जो कुछ भी इस अस्तित्व में है, वह सब ईश्वर का ही है। जब मैं तेरी ही दी हुई वस्तुओं को तुझे वापस सौंपता हूँ, तो इसमें मेरा क्या नुकसान है या मुझे क्या खोना है?

Meaning: Kabir declares that there is nothing within him that can truly be claimed as 'mine'. Everything that exists in his being and surroundings belongs to the Divine. He asks rhetorically, if he is simply returning what already belongs to the Creator, what loss could he possibly incur or what attachment remains to be severed?

अर्थ: जब मेरा अहंकार पूरी तरह नष्ट हो गया, तब मैं वास्तव में मुक्त हो गया और मुझे उस निराकार ब्रह्म पर अटूट विश्वास प्राप्त हुआ। अब मेरे जीवन में किसी अन्य सांसारिक सहारे या इच्छा की आवश्यकता नहीं रही; मेरी एकमात्र आशा और शरण अब केवल उस परमात्मा में है।

Meaning: When my ego was completely annihilated, I attained true liberation and gained an unwavering faith in the Formless Brahman. Now, there remains no need for any other worldly support or desire in my life; my sole hope and refuge lie exclusively in the Divine.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि संसार में तीन प्रकार के प्रेम—काम, मोह और लोभ—आसानी से मिल जाते हैं और लोग इनमें उलझे रहते हैं। लेकिन चौथा प्रेम, जो परमात्मा के प्रति निस्वार्थ भक्ति है, वह अत्यंत दुर्लभ है। विडंबना यह है कि सभी आत्माएं वास्तव में राम (परमात्मा) की प्रिय हैं, फिर भी वे इस भौतिक संसार में परदेसियों की तरह विस्मृत होकर भटक रहे हैं।

Meaning: Kabir observes that three forms of affection—lust, attachment, and greed—are abundant and easily found, trapping the soul in worldly cycles. However, the fourth love, the selfless devotion to the Divine, remains elusive. The tragedy lies in the fact that while every soul is inherently beloved by the Eternal Ram, they exist in this material realm as estranged exiles, forgetting their true home.

अर्थ: जब साधक अपने भीतर के पाँच इंद्रिय-विषयों (काम, क्रोध, लोभ, मोह, अहंकार) का सामना करता है और उन्हें जीत लेता है, तब वह वास्तविक आध्यात्मिक योद्धा बन जाता है। जब वह अपने हृदय और अहंकार को पूरी तरह ईश्वर को समर्पित कर देता है, तब उसका मस्तक गर्व से नहीं, बल्कि मुक्ति के आनंद से ऊपर उठता है और वह परमात्मा के चरणों में पूर्ण समर्पण का अनुभव करता है।

Meaning: When a seeker confronts and overcomes the five sensory impulses—lust, anger, greed, attachment, and ego—they become a true spiritual warrior. By surrendering the heart and the ego entirely to the Divine, the seeker's consciousness is elevated, and they find ultimate liberation in the presence of the Formless One, bowing in total surrender.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि यदि मैं इस आध्यात्मिक संघर्ष में हार जाता हूँ, तो यह हरि (ईश्वर) की इच्छा और उनकी महिमा है। यदि मैं जीत जाता हूँ, तो वह केवल एक सांसारिक दांव या अहंकार की जीत है। जब खेल स्वयं पारब्रह्म के साथ हो, तो यदि इस मार्ग में मेरा सिर (अहंकार) भी चला जाए, तो मुझे उसकी कोई चिंता नहीं है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that if he loses in this spiritual struggle, it is the will and glory of Hari (the Divine). If he wins, it is merely a worldly gamble or a victory of the ego. When playing a game with the Supreme Brahman, if one's head (symbolizing the ego and identity) is lost in the process, let it be gone without regret.
