अर्थ: इस संसार में मनुष्य, साधारण लोग और यहाँ तक कि ज्ञानी मुनि भी मोह के जाल में फंसे हुए हैं। यह सांसारिक आकर्षण मृग-तृष्णा (मृगतृष्णा) के समान है, जहाँ दूर से पानी दिखता है पर पास जाने पर कुछ नहीं मिलता। यह पूरा संसार मोह का ही एक रूप है, और जो व्यक्ति इस मोह रूपी गहरे सागर की गहराई को मापने या उसमें डूबने की कोशिश करता है, वह अंततः उसमें गिरकर नष्ट हो जाता है।

Meaning: In this world, ordinary men and even the learned sages are trapped in the web of attachment. Worldly attraction is akin to a mirage (mrig-trisna), where water appears from a distance but vanishes upon arrival. This entire existence is a manifestation of delusion; those who attempt to fathom the depths of this ocean of attachment or seek fulfillment within it inevitably fall and perish in its depths.

Meaning: The one enslaved by lust and sensory desires becomes fearless of the external world, as they are blinded by the pursuit of gratification. However, by becoming a prisoner to their own senses, they unwittingly descend into a state of spiritual torment and mental hell, oblivious to their own bondage.
