अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि मोक्ष के लिए काशी या मगहर जैसे स्थानों का कोई महत्व नहीं है। यदि परमात्मा मेरे हृदय के भीतर निवास करता है, तो मुझे किसी बाहरी तीर्थ की आवश्यकता नहीं है। यदि मैं काशी में शरीर त्यागता हूँ या मगहर में, इससे कोई अंतर नहीं पड़ता क्योंकि ईश्वर हर जगह व्याप्त है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that sacred cities like Kashi or the desolate lands of Maghar hold no inherent power over salvation. Since the Divine resides within the sanctuary of the heart, external pilgrimages are redundant. Whether one breathes their last in the holy city of Kashi or the shunned soil of Maghar, it matters not, for the Eternal is omnipresent.

अर्थ: मनुष्य बाहरी दिखावे, रेशमी वस्त्रों और विलासिता के सुखों में डूबा रहता है, यह सोचकर कि यही जीवन की सार्थकता है। परंतु कबीर कहते हैं कि बिना ईश्वर के नाम रूपी नाव के, यह भौतिक आडंबर आत्मा को पार नहीं लगा सकते और अंततः जीव कर्मों के बंधन में बंधकर मृत्यु के पश्चात कष्ट पाता है।

Meaning: Humans immerse themselves in external displays of status, wearing fine clothes and indulging in luxuries like betel leaf and nuts, believing these define their existence. However, Kabir asserts that without the 'boat' of Divine Remembrance (Hari's name), these material vanities cannot ferry the soul across the ocean of existence, leaving the soul bound to the consequences of its karmic debts.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि सच्ची माला मन की होनी चाहिए, न कि केवल बाहरी दिखावे या सांसारिक वेशभूषा की। यदि केवल गले में माला पहनने से ईश्वर की प्राप्ति हो जाती, तो बाजार में बिकने वाले मोतियों और मालाओं की दुकानों पर सबसे अधिक संत होते।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that the true rosary is one of the mind, not merely an external ornament or a worldly costume. If the simple act of wearing beads around the neck could lead to the realization of the Divine, then the marketplaces where these beads are sold would be the most crowded centers of enlightenment.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जीवन का पूरा समय व्यर्थ बीत गया और वास्तविक भक्ति या आत्म-साक्षात्कार कभी प्राप्त नहीं हुआ। अंत में, व्यक्ति केवल बाहरी दिखावे और सामाजिक रीति-रिवाजों का पालन करते हुए दुनिया की भीड़ में खो गया, बिना अपनी आत्मा को जाने।

Meaning: Kabir laments that a lifetime has passed without the attainment of true devotion or spiritual realization. Instead of seeking the inner truth, the individual spent their years conforming to external rituals and societal expectations, eventually drifting away with the crowd of the world.

अर्थ: यदि कोई व्यक्ति बाहरी रूप से धार्मिक या ज्ञानी दिखने का प्रयास करता है, लेकिन उसके भीतर विवेक और वास्तविक समझ का अभाव है, तो उस बाहरी दिखावे का कोई मूल्य नहीं है। तिलक लगाना या धार्मिक चिह्न धारण करना व्यर्थ है यदि मन अभी भी अज्ञान और पाखंड से भरा हुआ है।

Meaning: If a person attempts to appear religious or scholarly on the outside, yet lacks inner discernment and true understanding, such outward displays are meaningless. Applying a tilak or wearing religious symbols is futile if the mind remains clouded by ignorance and hypocrisy.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जो लोग न तो सच्चे साधु के मार्गदर्शन में रहकर साधना करते हैं और न ही उस निराकार ईश्वर की निस्वार्थ सेवा में लीन होते हैं, उनका जीवन और घर केवल बाहरी दिखावे और शोर-शराबे से भरा रहता है। ऐसे लोग आध्यात्मिक रूप से मृत हैं और उनके भीतर केवल अज्ञानता और तामसी प्रवृत्तियाँ वास करती हैं।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that those who neither seek the guidance of a true spiritual master nor engage in the selfless service of the Formless Divine live lives characterized by superficiality and noise. Their homes may be full of activity, but they are spiritually vacant, inhabited only by the 'ghosts' of ignorance and egoic delusions.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जब मनुष्य का मन आध्यात्मिक रूप से मृत हो जाता है और शरीर जर्जर या कमजोर हो जाता है, तब वह पाखंडी पंडितों और बाहरी कर्मकांडों के पीछे भागने लगता है। वह ईश्वर को बाहर खोजने की कोशिश करता है, जबकि सत्य उसके भीतर ही था जिसे उसने जीवित रहते अनदेखा किया।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that when the mind becomes spiritually dead and the physical body grows frail, the individual begins to seek God through external rituals and the guidance of opportunistic priests. Only in the twilight of life does one realize the urgency of the divine, yet they seek it in the wrong places, ignoring the internal spark.

अर्थ: कबीर यहाँ इस विडंबना पर प्रहार कर रहे हैं कि लोग बाहरी दिखावे और पवित्र स्थानों की पूजा तो करते हैं, लेकिन उन स्थानों की वास्तविक पवित्रता को नष्ट करने वाले तत्वों की अनदेखी करते हैं। यदि एक कौवा किसी पवित्र मठ के ऊपर गंदगी फैलाता है, तो वह मठ की बाहरी संरचना को नहीं, बल्कि वहां के पाखंड और अशुद्धता को उजागर करता है।

Meaning: Kabir critiques the irony of people venerating external symbols of holiness while ignoring the internal decay. He suggests that if a crow defiles a monastery with its droppings, it does not destroy the sanctuary's essence, but rather exposes the superficiality of those who believe holiness resides in bricks and mortar rather than in the purity of the soul.

अर्थ: कबीर दास जी कहते हैं कि यदि आपने बाहरी दिखावे के लिए गले में कई मालाएँ पहन ली हैं, तो इसका कोई आध्यात्मिक मूल्य नहीं है। यदि आपका बाहरी स्वरूप एक संत जैसा है, लेकिन आपका मन अभी भी ईर्ष्या, क्रोध और अज्ञानता जैसे कूड़े-करकट से भरा हुआ है, तो यह केवल एक पाखंड है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that wearing multiple prayer beads for outward show holds no spiritual value. If one crafts an external appearance of sanctity while the internal consciousness remains cluttered with the debris of ego, greed, and hatred, such piety is merely a deceptive facade.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जिसने एक पूर्ण और वास्तविक गुरु की प्राप्ति नहीं की और केवल अधूरी या सतही शिक्षाओं को सुना, वह आध्यात्मिक ज्ञान का पाखंडी बन जाता है। ऐसा व्यक्ति बाहरी रूप से संन्यासी का वेश धारण कर लेता है, लेकिन आंतरिक रूप से वह अभी भी अज्ञानता और मोह में फंसा रहता है, केवल दिखावे के लिए भिक्षा मांगता है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that one who fails to find a complete, realized Master and instead relies on fragmented or superficial teachings becomes a pretender of spirituality. Such a person adopts the external costume of an ascetic (Yati), wandering from door to door for alms, while remaining internally void of true liberation and trapped in the illusion of ego.
