अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि अज्ञानी व्यक्ति को सत्य का बोध नहीं होता; वह बार-बार मंदिर और बाहरी तीर्थों की यात्रा करता रहता है। वह इस बात से पूरी तरह अनजान है कि ईश्वर का वास्तविक निवास उसके अपने हृदय के भीतर है, और वह पत्थर की मूर्तियों से अपनी मुक्ति या शांति पाने की व्यर्थ कोशिश करता रहता है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that the spiritually ignorant fail to perceive the truth; they tirelessly visit temples and external shrines in search of the divine. They remain oblivious to the fact that the true sanctuary is within their own heart, mistakenly believing that a stone idol can provide the liberation or spiritual solace they seek.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि यदि पत्थर की मूर्ति की पूजा करने से ईश्वर की प्राप्ति हो सकती है, तो मैं पूरे पहाड़ की पूजा करने को तैयार हूँ। लेकिन उससे बेहतर तो वह चक्की है, जिसका उपयोग करके पिसा हुआ अनाज पूरा संसार खाता है और अपनी भूख मिटाता है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that if worshipping a stone idol could truly lead to the realization of the Divine, he would gladly worship an entire mountain. However, he argues that a grinding stone (chakki) is far more virtuous, as it serves a practical purpose by grinding grain that feeds the entire world.

अर्थ: कबीर दास जी कहते हैं कि मंदिर पत्थर का बना है और उसमें स्थापित देवता भी पत्थर के ही हैं। जो व्यक्ति इस जड़ पत्थर की पूजा कर रहा है, वह वास्तव में आध्यात्मिक अंधापन का शिकार है। ऐसे में इस बाहरी कर्मकांड और सेवा का क्या अर्थ है जब चेतना जागृत ही नहीं है?

Meaning: Kabir asserts that the temple is made of stone and the deity enshrined within is also of stone. The devotee who worships this inanimate object is blinded by ignorance. He questions the utility of such ritualistic service when the internal consciousness remains dormant and unaware of the living truth.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि बाहरी जप, तप, तीर्थयात्रा और व्रत अब खोखले हो चुके हैं। लोग केवल दिखावे के लिए इन धार्मिक कर्मकांडों को करते हैं, लेकिन उनमें वास्तविक श्रद्धा और आंतरिक परिवर्तन का अभाव है। जैसे तोता सेमल के फल के मोह में फँसकर अपना नुकसान कर लेता है, वैसे ही यह संसार बाहरी आडंबरों के भ्रम में फँसकर आध्यात्मिक रूप से निराश और रिक्त बना हुआ है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that external chanting, austerities, pilgrimages, and ritual fasts have become hollow shells. People perform these religious acts for social validation or mechanical habit, lacking true faith and internal transformation. Just as a parrot is lured by the deceptive sweetness of the Semal fruit only to face ruin, the world wanders in a state of spiritual disappointment, trapped by the illusion of ritualism.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि मुल्ला जोर-जोर से चिल्लाकर अज़ान दे रहा है, यह सोचकर कि ईश्वर बहरा है और उसे जगाने या बुलाने की जरूरत है। लेकिन सत्य यह है कि जिस ईश्वर को तुम बाहर पुकार रहे हो, वह कहीं बाहर नहीं बल्कि तुम्हारे अपने हृदय के भीतर ही निवास करता है।

Meaning: Kabir observes the Mullah shouting the call to prayer with great intensity, as if God were deaf and required a loud summons to be heard. He asserts that the Divine is not distant or unresponsive; rather, the very Being the Mullah seeks through external noise resides silently within the depths of his own heart.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि कंकड़ और पत्थरों को जोड़कर एक मस्जिद बनाई गई है, जिस पर चढ़कर मुल्ला जोर-जोर से अजान देता है। लेकिन विडंबना यह है कि जिस ईश्वर को वह पुकार रहा है, वह बहरा हो गया है या फिर वह पुकार उस तक पहुँच ही नहीं रही क्योंकि वह ईश्वर पत्थरों की दीवारों में नहीं रहता।

Meaning: Kabir observes that a mosque has been constructed by piling up pebbles and stones. Upon this structure, the cleric climbs to call the faithful to prayer, yet Kabir ironically remarks that God must have become deaf. The essence is that the Divine cannot be confined within stone walls nor reached through loud, ritualistic shouting.

अर्थ: कबीर दास जी कहते हैं कि यह संसार पत्थर की बनी मूर्तियों की पूजा में लीन है। वे चेतावनी देते हैं कि केवल बाहरी कर्मकांडों और पाषाण प्रतिमाओं के भरोसे आध्यात्मिक मुक्ति की आशा करना व्यर्थ है; ऐसा विश्वास आपको संसार की कठिन और अंधकारमय धाराओं में डुबो देगा।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that the world is immersed in the worship of idols carved from stone. He warns that relying solely on external rituals and stone images for spiritual liberation is futile; such a misplaced faith will only lead one to drown in the dark, turbulent currents of worldly existence.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि मनुष्य ने अपनी चेतना को अज्ञानता और अहंकार के अंधेरे कमरे में बंद कर लिया है। उसने बाहरी कर्मकांडों और शास्त्रवादी ज्ञान के दरवाजों को बंद कर लिया है, जिससे वह सत्य को नहीं देख पा रहा। वह पत्थर की मूर्तियों और बाहरी दुनिया के मोह में इतना खो गया है कि उसने वास्तविक आत्म-ज्ञान का मार्ग भुला दिया है और केवल पंडितों या बाहरी गुरुओं के बताए कठिन, भ्रमित रास्तों पर चल रहा है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that humanity has imprisoned its consciousness within a dark chamber of ignorance and ego. By shutting the doors of genuine intuition in favor of rigid rituals and scriptural dogma, the seeker has become blind. In the obsession with stone idols and the material world, the essence of the Earth and the Self is forgotten, leaving the seeker to wander aimlessly on the convoluted paths prescribed by orthodox scholars.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि यदि समुद्र में अग्नि लग जाए, तो वहां की सारी वनस्पतियां और कांद-मूल जलकर राख हो जाएंगे। इसी तरह, दुनिया भर के विद्वान और पंडित केवल बौद्धिक तर्क-वितर्क और गहन चिंतन में उलझे रहे, लेकिन वास्तविक आध्यात्मिक अनुभव के बिना वे सत्य को प्राप्त किए बिना ही मृत्यु को प्राप्त हुए।

Meaning: Kabir posits a paradox: if fire were to ignite within the ocean, every root and aquatic plant would be incinerated. Similarly, scholars from the East and West, trapped in the labyrinth of intellectual discourse and theoretical contemplation, perished in their search for truth because they relied on the mind rather than the direct experience of the Divine.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि यदि व्यक्ति का अहंकार और अज्ञान का सिर नहीं कटा, तो वह आध्यात्मिक मुक्ति या वास्तविक ज्ञान प्राप्त नहीं कर सकता। केवल पंडितों की पोथियों को दिन-रात रटने या पढ़ने से सत्य की प्राप्ति नहीं होती, क्योंकि किताबी ज्ञान बिना आत्म-अनुभव के व्यर्थ है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that unless the 'head' of ego and ignorance is severed, one cannot attain spiritual liberation or true realization. Merely reciting or studying the scriptures of scholars day and night is futile, as bookish knowledge remains empty without the direct experience of the Divine within.
