ध्यान (Meditation) — Kabir Dohas

अर्थ: जो व्यक्ति सीमाओं और सांसारिक नियमों के भीतर चलता है, वह साधारण मनुष्य है। जो इन सीमाओं को पार कर अनंत की ओर बढ़ता है, वह साधु है। परंतु, जो व्यक्ति सीमा और असीम, दोनों के द्वंद्व को पूरी तरह त्याग देता है, उसकी बुद्धि और चेतना वास्तव में अगाध और अनंत हो जाती है।

Meaning: One who walks within the confines of worldly limits and social norms is an ordinary human. One who transcends these limits to seek the infinite is a seeker or a saint. However, the one who transcends the very duality of 'limited' and 'limitless' attains a consciousness that is unfathomable and truly infinite.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि उन्होंने सीमाओं और द्वैत की दुनिया को त्यागकर उस असीम, अनंत परमात्मा में प्रवेश कर लिया है। उन्होंने 'शून्य' (परम शांति और रिक्तता) में स्नान किया है, जहाँ मन की सारी अशुद्धियाँ धुल गई हैं। यह वह उच्च आध्यात्मिक अवस्था है जहाँ साधारण तपस्वी या ज्ञानी भी नहीं पहुँच पाते, और वहीं आत्मा ने अपना अंतिम और शाश्वत विश्राम पाया है।

Meaning: Kabir proclaims that he has transcended the boundaries of the finite world to merge with the Infinite. He has bathed in the 'Shunya' (the Great Void), cleansing himself of all worldly impurities and dualities. This is a state of supreme consciousness that even the most learned sages struggle to attain, and it is here that the soul has finally found its eternal and absolute rest.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जब मन की चंचल वृत्तियाँ (सुरति) पूरी तरह शांत होकर विरक्ति (निरति) में विलीन हो जाती हैं, और वह विरक्ति भी बिना किसी आधार या सहारे के शून्य में स्थित हो जाती है, तब चेतना और शून्य का मिलन होता है। इसी गहन अनुभव के बाद आत्मा के लिए मोक्ष के द्वार स्वतः खुल जाते हैं।

Meaning: Kabir explains that when the flickering currents of the mind (Surati) merge completely into detachment (Nirati), and that detachment itself becomes baseless and void of all support, a profound realization occurs. When the conscious attention and the state of void unite, the doors to the ultimate self and liberation open spontaneously.

अर्थ: जब साधक ने अपने मन को पूरी तरह से ध्यान में केंद्रित किया, तब उसे उस परम तत्व (सत्य) की प्राप्ति हुई और वह अपने भौतिक शरीर के अस्तित्व को भूल गया। जैसे ही उसने उस दिव्य शब्द या शून्य की ध्वनि से अपना आंतरिक स्नान किया, उसके जीवन की सारी तड़प, मानसिक ताप और दुखों की जलन समाप्त हो गई और उसे परम शांति और शीतलता का अनुभव हुआ।

Meaning: When the seeker anchored the mind in unwavering meditation, the ultimate Essence was realized, and the consciousness of the physical body dissolved. Upon performing a spiritual bath in the resonance of the Divine Sound or the Void, the scorching heat of worldly desires and mental anguish vanished, replaced by an eternal, cooling serenity.

अर्थ: जब हृदय के भीतर अनहद नाद (अनाहत ध्वनि) गूंजने लगता है और आध्यात्मिक आनंद का झरना बहने लगता है, तब ब्रह्म ज्ञान का उदय होता है। उस समय वह अविगत या अज्ञात परमात्मा अंतरात्मा में प्रकट होता है और साधक प्रेमपूर्ण ध्यान में लीन हो जाता है।

Meaning: When the unstruck sound (Anhad Naad) resonates within and the fountain of spiritual bliss flows, the knowledge of the Absolute (Brahman) awakens. In this state, the previously unknown Divine manifests within the soul, and the seeker becomes absorbed in a meditation of pure, unconditional love.

अर्थ: कबीर परमात्मा से प्रार्थना करते हैं कि वे उनकी आँखों के भीतर समा जाएँ और उनकी पलकें बंद कर दें। वे चाहते हैं कि उनकी दृष्टि बाहरी दुनिया के मायावी प्रपंचों से पूरी तरह कट जाए, ताकि वे किसी और को न देखें और न ही कोई बाहरी प्रभाव उन्हें विचलित कर सके, केवल परमात्मा का ही साक्षात्कार हो।

Meaning: Kabir prays to the Divine to enter within his eyes and close his eyelids. He seeks a state of complete sensory withdrawal where he no longer perceives the illusory distractions of the external world, nor allows any external influence to penetrate his consciousness, ensuring that only the Absolute Truth remains visible.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जब तक मनुष्य के हृदय में इच्छाओं और कामनाओं की अग्नि जलती रहती है, तब तक वह शांति से नहीं रह सकता। यह आंतरिक अग्नि उसे बेचैन रखती है, जिससे वह पृथ्वी और आकाश के विस्तार में भी स्वयं को अकेला और विस्मित पाता है, क्योंकि उसका विश्वास बाहरी सहारे पर टिका है न कि अंतरात्मा पर।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that as long as the fire of desires and cravings burns within the heart, one cannot find true peace. This internal blaze keeps the soul restless, making the individual feel lost and alienated even amidst the vastness of the earth and sky, because their faith is anchored in external dependencies rather than the inner Self.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि केवल 'आग' शब्द बोलने से कोई जलता नहीं है, जब तक कि वह वास्तव में आग के संपर्क में न आए। इसी प्रकार, जब तक आप उस परम सत्य या 'भेद' को अनुभव नहीं करते, तब तक केवल 'राम-राम' जपने या नाम लेने से कोई आध्यात्मिक लाभ नहीं होता।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that merely uttering the word 'fire' does not burn a person unless they actually touch the flame. Similarly, chanting the name of 'Ram' or speaking of the Divine is futile and devoid of spiritual transformation until one realizes the secret 'bhed'—the actual experiential truth of the Absolute.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि यह मानव शरीर एक पुराने, जर्जर ढांचे के समान है और मन एक भंवर की तरह चंचल और अस्थिर है। इस नश्वरता के बीच, केवल परमात्मा का नाम ही वह अनमोल सार है जो जीवन को सार्थकता देता है। जब साधक अपने हृदय को राम-नाम के अमृत से सींचता है, तो उसे अंततः ऐसा आध्यात्मिक फल प्राप्त होता है जिसकी कोई सीमा नहीं है और जो पूर्णतः संतोषजनक है।

Meaning: Kabir describes the human body as a fragile, decaying structure and the mind as a turbulent whirlpool of desires. Amidst this transience, the divine name is the only incomparable essence that provides true stability. When a seeker nourishes their inner self with the nectar of 'Ram-naam', they eventually bear a spiritual fruit that is boundless, infinite, and eternally satisfying.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि मनुष्य अपनी चेतना और मन के भंवर में इस कदर उलझ गया है कि वह उस वास्तविक 'चेतय' या शुद्ध आत्मा को नहीं देख पा रहा है। वह बाहरी दुनिया के टुकड़ों और सांसारिक मोह-माया के छोटे-छोटे हिस्सों को बटोरने में लगा है, जबकि उसके भीतर अनंत ब्रह्मांड और असीम शांति का शहर मौजूद है जिसे उसने अनदेखा कर दिया है।

Meaning: Kabir observes that the human being has become so deeply immersed in the whirlpool of the mind and fluctuating consciousness that they fail to perceive the true 'Chetya' or the Pure Witness. The individual spends their entire existence gathering fragmented pieces of worldly desires and material attachments, completely oblivious to the fact that an infinite city of spiritual liberation and eternal peace resides within their own being.
