ध्यान (Meditation) — Kabir Dohas

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि गुरु का ज्ञान एक ऐसी तलवार (खांडा) की तरह है जो अहंकार के भ्रम को काट देता है। जब साधक शब्द (दिव्य ध्वनि या ज्ञान) के कठोर प्रहारों को धैर्यपूर्वक सहन करता है और उसके सम्मुख समर्पित रहता है, तभी एक बुद्धिमान व्यक्ति का मस्तक वास्तव में प्रबुद्ध और शुद्ध होता है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that the Guru's wisdom acts as a sharp sword (Khanda) that severs the illusions of the ego. When a seeker patiently endures the rigorous strikes of the 'Shabad' (the divine word or spiritual truth) and remains steadfast in its presence, only then is the head of the wise truly awakened and purified.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि गुरु को ही ईश्वर (गोविंद) के समान मानना चाहिए और सदैव उनके द्वारा दिए गए ज्ञान-शब्द में लीन रहना चाहिए। यदि गुरु साक्षात सामने हों, तो उनके चरणों में पूर्ण समर्पण के साथ दंडवत प्रणाम करना चाहिए, और यदि वे सामने न हों, तो हर क्षण उनके उपदेशों का ध्यान करना चाहिए।

Meaning: Kabir instructs that the Guru should be regarded as identical to the Divine (Govind), and one should remain immersed in the 'Shabad' or the spiritual word imparted by them. अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि गुरु की छवि चंद्रमा के समान है और शिष्य की आँखें चकोर पक्षी की तरह हैं। जिस प्रकार चकोर पक्षी पूरी रात बिना पलक झपकाए चंद्रमा को निहारता रहता है, उसी प्रकार एक समर्पित शिष्य अपने गुरु के स्वरूप और ज्ञान में निरंतर लीन रहता है।

Meaning: Kabir suggests that the Guru's presence is like the radiant moon, and the disciple's eyes are like those of the Chakora bird. Just as the Chakora spends the entire night gazing unwaveringly at the moon, a devoted seeker remains eternally absorbed in the essence and guidance of the Guru.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि एक सच्चा साधु उस भौंरे के समान है जो इस संसार रूपी कली में निरंतर विरक्त होकर घूमता रहता है। वह केवल वहीं ठहरता है और वहीं अपना समय व्यतीत करता है जहाँ उसे परमात्मा के शीतल और शांतिदायक शब्दों का अनुभव होता है।

Meaning: Kabir suggests that a true seeker is like a bumblebee in the garden of the world. While the world appears as a budding flower, the seeker wanders in a state of divine longing, pausing only where the cooling, tranquil vibrations of the Eternal Word reside.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जिस प्रकार गहरे जलाशय का पानी स्थिर और निर्मल होता है, उसी प्रकार वह साधक वास्तव में श्रेष्ठ है जिसने अपने मन को गहराई और स्थिरता प्रदान की है, और जिसके पास आंतरिक शांति का वास्तविक साधन है।

Meaning: Kabir suggests that just as water in a deep reservoir remains clear and undisturbed, a true seeker or saint is one who has cultivated profound inner depth and stability, possessing the genuine means of spiritual realization through stillness.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जब मनुष्य शब्दों के गहरे अर्थ पर विचार करते हुए सत्य के मार्ग पर चलता है, तब ज्ञान की गली उसके पैरों को दिशा देती है। इस अवस्था में यह भेद मिट जाता है कि कौन भ्रमण कर रहा है, कौन स्थिर बैठा है, या कौन सांसारिक मोह-माया और पारिवारिक सुख की छाया में विश्राम कर रहा है।

Meaning: Kabir suggests that when a seeker walks the path by contemplating the true essence of the Divine Word, the alley of wisdom guides their every step. In this state of realization, the duality between the wanderer and the dweller, or between spiritual pursuit and worldly domesticity, completely dissolves into a singular experience of truth.

Meaning: Kabir explains that worldly discourse involves a multitude of people, the pursuit of knowledge involves a duality between the seeker and the teacher, but in the state of true meditation, all distinctions vanish, leaving only the One—the Absolute—where no second entity exists.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि मनुष्य को अपने चित्त में केवल ईश्वर के वास्तविक लक्षणों को धारण करना चाहिए और उन सभी बाहरी, मिथ्या लक्षणों का त्याग कर देना चाहिए जो भ्रम पैदा करते हैं। पूर्ण जागरूकता और समान ध्यान के साथ, साधक को अपने गुरु के चरणों में समर्पित हो जाना चाहिए, क्योंकि वही वास्तविक ज्ञान का मार्ग है।

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि सद्गुरु ने मुझे सहज मार्ग का ज्ञान दिया है, जो कठिन तपस्या नहीं बल्कि स्वाभाविक जागरूकता है। अब मैं अपनी प्रत्येक श्वास के साथ उस परमात्मा का स्मरण करता हूँ, इस विश्वास के साथ कि निरंतरता और समर्पण से एक दिन मैं निश्चित रूप से उस परम सत्य में विलीन हो जाऊँगा।
