अर्थ: एक पिता अपनी पुत्री से बहुत प्रेम करता था। जब पुत्री मिठाई के लालच में दौड़कर उसे लेने गई, तो वह मिठाई के मोह में इतनी मग्न हो गई कि वह अपने पिता के प्रेम और उनकी उपस्थिति को पूरी तरह भूल गई। यह दोहा भौतिक सुखों के प्रति आसक्ति के कारण आत्मा के अपने मूल स्रोत से विस्मृत हो जाने की स्थिति को दर्शाता है।

Meaning: A father cherished his daughter deeply. However, lured by the promise of sweets, the daughter rushed forward in greed. In her intense craving for the sugary treat, she completely forgot the father who provided it and the love he held for her. This verse serves as a metaphor for the soul's tendency to forget its divine origin while chasing transient worldly pleasures.

अर्थ: कबीर दास जी कहते हैं कि कलियुग का स्वामी लोभ है। जिस प्रकार पीतल पर पॉलिश करके उसे सोने जैसा दिखाया जाता है, वैसे ही लोभी व्यक्ति बाहरी दिखावे और आडंबरों का सहारा लेता है। वह राजदरबारों में इस तरह भटकता है जैसे कोई रंगीन कपड़े पहनकर अपनी असलियत छिपाने की कोशिश कर रहा हो, जबकि उसके भीतर सत्य का अभाव है।

Just as brass is polished to mimic the luster of gold, the greedy individual adorns themselves with superficiality and pretense. They wander through the corridors of power and prestige, masquerading in vibrant colors to hide their inner void, mistaking external validation for spiritual worth.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि एक सच्चे साधु, एक पतिव्रता स्त्री और एक शेर की असली शोभा उनके संयम और मर्यादा में है। जिस प्रकार शेर छोटे जीवों या मामूली शिकारों पर अपनी शक्ति व्यर्थ नहीं करता, उसी प्रकार एक आत्म-ज्ञानी साधु कभी भी सांसारिक लोभ या लालच के बंधन में नहीं बंधता।

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जब मनुष्य लालच, लोभ, मोह और अहंकार (मद) से मुक्त हो जाता है, तब वह वास्तव में अकेला और स्वतंत्र होकर भी पूर्ण होता है। ईश्वर का वास किसी विशेष जाति या ऊँचे कुल में नहीं, बल्कि उन लोगों में है जिन्हें समाज ने तिरस्कृत किया है, क्योंकि बिना समर्पण और विनम्रता के परमात्मा की प्राप्ति असंभव है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that when a human is liberated from greed, attachment, and the intoxication of ego, they find a profound, solitary wholeness.
