अर्थ: मनुष्य इस भ्रम में रहता है कि वह जीवन भर भौतिक सुखों और धन-संपदा का उपभोग करता रहेगा। वह संचय में इतना लीन हो जाता है कि उसे अपनी नश्वरता का आभास नहीं होता। अंततः, मृत्यु उसे उसी अवस्था में ले जाती है जहाँ वह भौतिक रूप से तो समृद्ध था, परंतु आध्यात्मिक रूप से रिक्त था।

Meaning: Man lives under the delusion that he will eternally consume material pleasures and accumulate vast wealth. He becomes so absorbed in gathering possessions that he forgets his own mortality. Ultimately, Death seizes him exactly as he was—materially affluent perhaps, but spiritually empty and devoid of realization.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि यह मन अत्यंत लालची और अज्ञानी है। यह आध्यात्मिक साधना और ईश्वर के स्मरण में तो आलस दिखाता है, परंतु भौतिक सुखों और सांसारिक भोगों के उपभोग के लिए सदैव तत्पर और उत्साहित रहता है।

Meaning: Kabir observes that the human mind is inherently greedy and ignorant. It exhibits profound laziness when it comes to spiritual practice and the remembrance of the Divine, yet it remains perpetually alert and eager when the opportunity for material consumption and sensory pleasure arises.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि यह माया अत्यंत पापी और भ्रमित करने वाली है, जिसने लोभ के जाल में पूरी दुनिया को फंसा रखा है। सत्य यह है कि इस संसार में कोई भी माया का पूरी तरह उपभोग नहीं कर सका; इसकी अतृप्ति और अधूरापन ही मनुष्य का सबसे बड़ा दुख और विछोह है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that Maya (the cosmic illusion) is inherently deceptive, trapping humanity in an endless cycle of greed and longing. He emphasizes that no one has ever truly exhausted or satisfied their desires through material pursuit; the eternal incompleteness of such cravings is the very essence of human suffering and separation.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जो व्यक्ति वासनाओं में डूबा है, उसके लिए कामुकता ही उसका मार्गदर्शक बन जाती है। जो लोभी है, उसके लिए धन ही सर्वोच्च गुरु है। परंतु कबीर का मार्गदर्शन एक संत ने किया, और उन संतों का अंतिम लक्ष्य और गुरु स्वयं निराकार राम (परमात्मा) हैं।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that for one enslaved by lust, desire becomes their guiding master. For the greedy, wealth acts as their supreme teacher. However, Kabir's guidance came from a realized saint, and for such saints, the ultimate teacher and destination is the formless Divine (Ram).

Meaning: Kabir explains that when the mind is consumed by greed and avarice, it becomes utterly lost in the pursuit of sensory pleasures and material attachments. In such a state, the individual loses the capacity to attain true spiritual wealth or self-realization, as their discernment is clouded by worldly desires.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि मैं अपने कर्मों के अहंकार और बाहरी दिखावे को जलाकर राख कर देना चाहता हूँ। लोभ और बड़प्पन के मोह को त्यागकर, मैं केवल अपने गुरु के बताए हुए आध्यात्मिक मार्ग और उनके प्रेमपूर्ण संगीत (राग) में लीन होना चाहता हूँ।

Meaning: Kabir expresses a desire to incinerate the pride associated with his worldly actions and social standing. By abandoning the cravings for greed and prestige, he seeks to immerse himself entirely in the spiritual resonance and divine guidance provided by the Guru.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि इस संसार में बिना किसी बाहरी दंड या शासन के भी मनुष्य अपने ही कर्मों और वासनाओं के दंड से बंधा हुआ है। यहाँ का मार्ग कठिन है और राह दिखाने वाले (गुरु या मार्गदर्शक) अक्सर लोभी होते हैं, जो सत्य की जगह मीठी बातों और प्रलोभनों (गुड़ और खांड) से साधक को भ्रमित कर देते हैं।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that although there may be no visible physical shackles, the world itself is a place of punishment driven by one's own karmic debts. The spiritual path is treacherous because those who claim to be guides are often consumed by greed, offering sweet temptations and superficial comforts rather than the rigorous truth required for liberation.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि मनुष्य ने लोभ और लालच के कारण अपना बहुमूल्य मानव जीवन व्यर्थ गँवा दिया। उसके पापों ने उसके द्वारा अर्जित पुण्यों को नष्ट कर दिया है। अब वह आध्यात्मिक मार्ग पर चलने का प्रयास तो कर रहा है, लेकिन वह अधूरा है, और इस पूरी प्रक्रिया में उसका अहंकार और मोह उसके वास्तविक आत्म-साक्षात्कार के मार्ग में रक्त की तरह बाधा बन रहे हैं।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that human beings have squandered the precious gift of human birth through the pursuit of greed and worldly desires. The accumulation of sins has eroded the merit of their virtuous deeds. While they may now attempt a spiritual practice, it remains superficial and incomplete, as the clinging ego and blood-like attachments continue to obstruct the path to true liberation.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि एक लालची व्यक्ति और एक कुत्ते की वृत्ति एक समान होती है। जिस प्रकार कुत्ता या लोभी व्यक्ति किसी चीज़ को पाने या उसे अपने पास रखने में अत्यधिक सुख का अनुभव करता है, लेकिन जब वह वस्तु उससे छीनी जाती है, तो वह तड़प उठता है और उसे ऐसा लगता है जैसे उसके प्राण निकल रहे हों।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that a greedy person and a dog share the same instinctual nature. Just as a dog clings fiercely to a bone or a greedy man to his possessions, they find immense pleasure in acquiring and holding onto things, but when those possessions are taken away, they suffer an agony so intense it feels as though their very life force is being ripped from them.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि दुनिया में अनगिनत योगी, संन्यासी और महान विद्वान हैं जो स्वयं को अत्यंत ज्ञानी और गुणी मानते हैं। लेकिन यदि व्यक्ति के भीतर लोभ या लालच की एक छोटी सी बूंद भी शेष है, तो छह दर्शनों (शास्त्रीय विचारधाराओं) का गहन अध्ययन करना पूरी तरह व्यर्थ है।

Meaning: Kabir observes that the world is filled with countless ascetics, wanderers, and scholars who claim immense wisdom and virtue. However, he asserts that the mastery of the six classical schools of philosophy is utterly useless if a single drop of greed remains within the heart of the seeker.
