Meaning: Kabir asserts that without the authentic union of a realized Guru and a devoted disciple, a human remains trapped in the game of greed and self-interest. In this state of spiritual blindness, the individual attempts to cross the turbulent currents of worldly existence using a 'boat of stone'—symbolizing false beliefs and the heavy burden of the ego—which inevitably leads to spiritual drowning.

Meaning: Kabir proclaims that when the True Guru, moved by grace and pleasure, gave a simple instruction to remain in His company, a torrential rain of divine love descended. This celestial downpour saturated every fiber of his being, washing away the remnants of the separate ego.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that without the guidance of a true spiritual master, one's awakening remains incomplete. Such an individual resorts to the facade of asceticism, donning the outward costume of a renunciant to solicit alms and social prestige, while remaining internally void of actual realization and spiritual depth.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that humans ignore the Divine Presence (Ram) residing within themselves, instead obsessing over external rituals and foreign deities. He compares such a spiritual state to the child of a courtesan, whose true lineage is unknown and lost, symbolizing a soul that has forgotten its divine origin and authentic spiritual fatherhood.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that one who has not tasted the essence of divine love, nor internalized its transformative power, is akin to a guest who visits a desolate, empty house. Having found no sustenance or warmth, such a person departs from the earthly existence exactly as they entered—void of spiritual fulfillment and devoid of the soul's true treasure.

Meaning: Kabir urges the seeker to please the formless Divine (Ram) by singing the nectar-like praises of His attributes. He suggests that just as a shattered gemstone can be meticulously joined back together, a fragmented and scattered mind can be reunited and made whole through the practice of spiritual devotion and inner alignment.

Meaning: When the soul burns in the profound agony of separation from the Divine, this longing resides within the body like a venomous serpent. No worldly remedy or ritualistic mantra can cure this spiritual ache. One who is truly estranged from the Divine cannot endure the pain of existence; if they survive, they appear mad to the world, for their consciousness has transcended the mundane reality of the physical plane.

Meaning: Kabir observes that weeping in grief diminishes one's spiritual strength, while excessive laughter or egoistic mirth displeases the Divine. The true, silent agony is that which resides within the mind—a hidden erosion of the soul, similar to how a woodworm consumes a piece of timber from the inside, leaving the exterior seemingly intact while the core is hollowed out.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that only upon reaching the ultimate state of Truth or the Divine, and merging into that infinite consciousness, can one truly describe the experience. Currently, we are merely adrift in the turbulent ocean of this material world; until we reach the shore of realization, our claims and words are empty, lacking the weight of actual spiritual attainment.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that he has personally witnessed the Divine Truth, yet he finds it impossible to articulate because the world relies on intellectual proof rather than direct experience. He advises the seeker to align their own existence with the nature of the Divine and dwell in the joyful celebration of those eternal attributes.
