Meaning: Kabir asserts that where a line of sacred vermillion is drawn, not even a speck of soot can be placed. Similarly, when the eyes are completely immersed in the presence of the Divine Beloved (Ramaiya), there is absolutely no room left for any other worldly attachment, desire, or duality to enter the consciousness.

Meaning: Kabir observes that man is like a tiny seashell in the vast ocean of existence, incessantly chanting a song of thirst and longing. He dismisses the infinite expanse of the ocean as insignificant as a straw, while ironically remaining desperate for a single drop of water, failing to realize he is already immersed in the source.

Meaning: Kabir explains that while he was venturing outward in pursuit of worldly pleasure, he was instead met by the fire of suffering. He now dismisses that illusory happiness to its own abode, for he has come to deeply understand the nature of pain and the profound spiritual truth that resides within it.

Meaning: Kabir declares that the fear of hell is as insignificant to him as a garment worn upon the body; it holds no power over him. Similarly, he expresses no desire for the pleasures of heaven. His sole longing and ultimate destination is the Divine Beloved, for in the presence of the Eternal, both heaven and hell become meaningless illusions.

Meaning: If you have not recognized that One Supreme Truth (the Divine or the Self), then you may claim to know everything in the world, yet you remain ignorant of the essential. Conversely, once you realize that One Truth, all other worldly knowledge is revealed as superficial and irrelevant, rendering the 'learned' ignorant in comparison.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that if one fails to recognize the One Absolute Truth—the singular, formless Divine—then the acquisition of vast amounts of worldly or fragmented knowledge is futile. Everything in existence emanates from that One Source; while the One manifests as the many, the many cannot lead back to the One unless the illusion of separation is dissolved.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that as long as devotion is driven by desire or the expectation of a reward, the spiritual practice remains fruitless. The Divine or the True Self is only attainable to those who have become completely desireless, for the Ultimate Reality exists beyond the realm of wanting.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that one should harbor only a single hope: the longing for the Divine (Ram). All other worldly desires inevitably lead to disappointment and void. He likens this state to a fish that builds its home within the water, yet perishes from thirst, despite being completely surrounded by the very element it needs.

Meaning: If the mind becomes completely absorbed in the One (the Supreme Truth), the seeker transcends all worldly attachments and dualities to find absolute liberation. Conversely, one who attempts to play two different tunes or pursue conflicting desires simultaneously will inevitably face failure, mental turmoil, and the harsh slaps of destiny.

Meaning: Kabir observes that in the age of Kali Yuga, humanity has created countless delusions and mental conflicts through intellectual pride and ego. However, those who have anchored their hearts to the One Formless Reality remain immersed in a state of supreme bliss and purity, sleeping as peacefully and softly as fresh butter, undisturbed by the chaos of the external world.
