कबीर के दोहे (Kabir's Couplets)

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि ईश्वर के स्मरण की एकाग्रता वैसी ही होनी चाहिए जैसी एक कामुक व्यक्ति की अपनी वासना के प्रति होती है। जिस प्रकार एक प्रेमी या कामुक व्यक्ति अपने लक्ष्य को एक पल के लिए भी नहीं भूलता, उसी प्रकार साधक को दिन-रात, हर पहर परमात्मा के चिंतन में लीन रहना चाहिए।

Meaning: Kabir suggests that the remembrance of the Divine should be as intense and unwavering as the obsession of a lustful person for their desire. Just as a lover cannot forget their beloved for a single moment, a seeker must remain immersed in the consciousness of the Eternal throughout the day and night, across every single watch of the clock.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि ईश्वर के स्मरण की चेतना वैसी होनी चाहिए जैसे एक पानी भरने वाली स्त्री अपने सिर पर रखे घड़े को संतुलित करती है। जिस प्रकार वह चलते समय घड़े को गिरने से बचाने के लिए निरंतर सचेत रहती है, उसी प्रकार साधक को अपनी स्मृति में परमात्मा का वास निरंतर बनाए रखना चाहिए।

Meaning: Kabir suggests that the mindfulness of divine remembrance should be like a woman carrying a water pot on her head. Just as she remains perpetually alert and balanced to prevent the pot from slipping while she walks, a seeker must maintain a constant, unwavering awareness of the Divine within their consciousness.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि परमात्मा का नाम और उनकी भक्ति ही मेरी वास्तविक पूँजी है, जिससे मैं सदैव आनंदित और तृप्त रहता हूँ। जब मनुष्य अपनी आंतरिक आध्यात्मिक शक्ति (पुरुष बल) को जागृत कर लेता है, तो वह समय और मृत्यु के भय से मुक्त हो जाता है, क्योंकि काल भी उस शाश्वत सत्य को नहीं चुरा सकता।

Meaning: Kabir declares that the Divine Presence is his only true wealth, leaving him eternally blissful and fulfilled. He asserts that once a seeker awakens their inner spiritual potency (Purush Bal), they transcend the fear of time and death, for the inevitable 'Kaal' cannot steal that which is eternal and non-material.

अर्थ: जिस व्यक्ति के हृदय और अंतःकरण में परमात्मा (राम) का वास है, उसे संसार की समस्त सिद्धियाँ और संपत्तियाँ स्वतः प्राप्त हो जाती हैं। जब वह व्यक्ति विनम्रतापूर्वक खड़ा होता है, तो आठ सिद्धियाँ और नौ निधियाँ उसके चरणों में झुक जाती हैं, क्योंकि वह अब बाहरी अभावों से मुक्त होकर पूर्णता को प्राप्त कर चुका है।

Meaning: He whose inner core is anchored in the Divine (Ram) possesses all possible accomplishments. When such a person stands in humble presence, the eight supernatural powers (Siddhis) and nine treasures (Nidhis) bow before them, for they have transcended external lack by realizing the infinite abundance within.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि परमात्मा का आदि नाम उस पारस पत्थर के समान है जो लोहे को सोने में बदल देता है। हमारा मन इस समय मैला लोहे की तरह अशुद्ध और भारी है, लेकिन जब यह उस दिव्य नाम के संपर्क में आता है, तो यह तुरंत शुद्ध सोने में परिवर्तित हो जाता है और सांसारिक मोह-माया के सभी बंधन टूट जाते हैं।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that the Primordial Name (Aadi Naam) acts as the mythical philosopher's stone (Paras), capable of transforming base metal into gold. The human mind is currently like rusted, soiled iron—heavy and impure. However, upon touching the divine vibration of the Name, the mind is transmuted into pure gold, liberating the soul from the shackles of worldly attachment and delusion.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि यदि तुम इस अवसर का लाभ उठा सकते हो, तो अभी ईश्वर के नाम और उसकी चेतना का आनंद ले लो। यह एक ऐसा आध्यात्मिक खजाना है जो बिना किसी मूल्य के उपलब्ध है। यदि तुमने इस जीवन में इसे नहीं पाया, तो मृत्यु के बाद केवल पश्चाताप बचेगा जब प्राण शरीर को त्याग देंगे।

Meaning: Kabir urges us to seize the divine opportunity of remembering the Formless One while we still possess the breath of life. He describes the remembrance of 'Ram' not as a ritual, but as a spiritual treasure available for the taking. To ignore this grace now is to invite an eternal regret once the soul departs from the physical vessel.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि केवल माला जपने से कुछ नहीं होता यदि हृदय के भीतर की गांठें—अर्थात अहंकार, द्वेष और मोह—नहीं खुलतीं। वास्तविक मुक्ति तब मिलती है जब साधक अपना चित्त गुरु के चरणों में समर्पित कर दे, जिससे वह अविनाशी लोक 'अमरापुर' को प्राप्त कर सके।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that the mere mechanical act of chanting beads is futile if the knots within the heart—ego, hatred, and attachment—remain untied. True liberation is achieved only when the seeker anchors their consciousness at the feet of the Guru, thereby attaining the immortal realm of Amrapur.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जिसने ईश्वर के वास्तविक स्वरूप और नाम को नहीं पहचाना, उसके जीवन में अज्ञानता की एक मोटी परत जम गई है। यह शरीर अब लकड़ी के बर्तन के समान हो गया है, जिसे अग्नि पर चढ़ाने पर भी वह पक नहीं सकता, अर्थात आध्यात्मिक जागृति अब असंभव सी प्रतीत होती है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that one who fails to recognize the true essence of the Divine Name accumulates a thick crust of ignorance. The physical body becomes like a pot made of wood; though placed upon the fire of life, it cannot be cooked or transformed, symbolizing a soul stunted by spiritual blindness.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि इस संसार में आपको इससे बेहतर कोई दूसरा सहारा नहीं मिलेगा, यदि आप परमात्मा (राम) को अपना खेवनहार बना लें। जब आप राम के प्रति पूर्ण समर्पण कर देते हैं, तो यह संसार रूपी कठिन सागर पलक झपकते ही पार हो जाता है, क्योंकि आत्मा को उसका वास्तविक किनारा मिल जाता है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that in this transient world, one will find no support more reliable than the Divine (Ram) as the navigator of one's life. Once the soul anchors itself in the formless Divine, the tumultuous ocean of worldly existence is crossed in an instant, for the seeker has aligned with the eternal current of truth.
