कबीर के दोहे (Kabir's Couplets)

अर्थ: ईश्वर की कृपा और ज्ञान का जल हर जगह, हर घर में और अस्तित्व के कण-कण में उपलब्ध है। संत या गुरु केवल संकेत देते हैं, लेकिन वास्तव में वही व्यक्ति उस अमृत का पान कर पाता है जिसके भीतर सच्ची तड़प और तीव्र आध्यात्मिक प्यास होती है। बिना आंतरिक व्याकुलता के, बाहरी उपदेश व्यर्थ हैं।

Meaning: The water of divine grace and spiritual knowledge is omnipresent, flowing through every home and every atom of existence. The teacher or saint merely points the way, but the nectar is truly tasted only by those who possess an intense, burning thirst for truth. Without internal longing, external guidance remains ineffective.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि एक सच्चा साधु वह है जिसने केवल एक लंगोटी धारण की है और वह सांसारिक संदेहों या मोह-माया के बंधनों को नहीं मानता। जो व्यक्ति राम नाम के नशे में लीन रहता है और जिसकी चेतना सदैव परमात्मा में विलीन है, वह बाहरी दुनिया की दृष्टि में भले ही दरिद्र हो, परंतु वास्तव में वह इंद्र जैसे देवताओं से भी अधिक समृद्ध है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that a true seeker is one who wears a simple loincloth and remains untouched by the doubts and attachments of the material world. One who is intoxicated by the divine name of Ram and remains eternally absorbed in the Mother-source of consciousness may appear as a pauper to the world, yet in spiritual reality, they possess a wealth that far surpasses even the riches of Indra, the king of gods.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that one who is consumed by the fire of ego and anger suffers continuous mental and spiritual agony. Conversely, those who remain detached from passion, hatred, and pride dwell in a state of profound peace. Those who master this inner stillness are considered wealthier than Indra, the king of gods, regardless of their material poverty in the eyes of the world.

अर्थ: कबीर दास जी कहते हैं कि मैंने स्वयं कुछ नहीं किया और न ही मैं कुछ करने में सक्षम था, क्योंकि यह शरीर कर्म करने के योग्य या अहंकारपूर्ण कर्ता बनने के लिए नहीं था। जो कुछ भी घटित हुआ या जो भी कार्य संपन्न हुए, वे सब उस परमात्मा (हरि) की इच्छा और कृपा से हुए। जब यह बोध हुआ कि मैं केवल एक माध्यम हूँ, तब मैं वास्तव में 'कबीर' (महान) बन सका।

Meaning: Kabir declares that he has neither performed any action nor possessed the inherent capacity to do so, for the physical body is not the true author of spiritual liberation. Whatever was accomplished was solely the work of the Divine (Hari). Only upon realizing his own insignificance and the absolute sovereignty of the Divine did he attain the state of 'Kabir'—becoming truly great through the annihilation of the self.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि मनुष्य के अपने प्रयासों या कर्मों से आध्यात्मिक सिद्धि प्राप्त नहीं होती, बल्कि वह सब होता है जो ईश्वर की इच्छा से अनपेक्षित रूप से घटित होता है। वे प्रभु की दरगाह में प्रार्थना करते हैं कि उन्हें उस ईश्वरीय नाम और कृपा से वंचित न रखा जाए, क्योंकि केवल वही परम सत्य है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that human effort and calculated actions alone do not lead to spiritual liberation; rather, everything unfolds according to the Divine Will, often in ways unforeseen. He prays at the threshold of the Almighty, pleading that he may not be deprived of the Divine Name, for only that grace is the ultimate reality.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि कुछ लोग आध्यात्मिक जागृति के मार्ग पर खड़े होकर भी केवल बाहरी दिखावा करते हैं और अंततः व्यर्थ में तड़पते रहते हैं, जबकि वास्तविक गुरु या परमात्मा (साईं) वह है जो सोए हुए जीव को उसकी गहरी अज्ञानता की नींद से जगाकर उसे सत्य का साक्षात्कार कराते हैं।

Meaning: Kabir observes that while some stand in the pursuit of truth yet remain consumed by their own delusions and restlessness, the True Master or Divine is the one who possesses the grace to awaken the soul from the profound slumber of ignorance, leading it toward ultimate consciousness.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि यदि मैं सातों समुद्रों के जल को स्याही बना लूँ, संसार के सभी वनों की लकड़ियों से कलमें बना लूँ और पूरी पृथ्वी को लिखने के लिए कागज़ बना लूँ, तब भी अपने गुरु की महिमा और उनके गुणों का वर्णन करना असंभव है। यह दोहा गुरु की अनंत कृपा और ज्ञान की असीमितता को दर्शाता है।

Meaning: Kabir proclaims that even if he were to turn the waters of the seven seas into ink, fashion writing pens from every forest in existence, and transform the entire earth into parchment, he would still be unable to fully document the virtues and grace of the Guru. अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि इस संसार में हर तरफ केवल माया का प्रतिबिंब या चमक है। चाहे हम बाएँ देखें या दाएँ, हर व्यवहार और हर क्रिया इसी मायावी चमक के प्रभाव में है। इस संपूर्ण दृश्य जगत के आगे और पीछे, केवल यही माया व्याप्त है, जिसे वह परमात्मा या सृजनहार ने इस खेल के रूप में स्थापित किया है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that the entire world is but a shimmering reflection of Maya. Whether one looks to the left or the right, every interaction and behavior is governed by this illusory glow. From the forefront to the furthest horizon, this cosmic play of appearances is sustained and orchestrated by the Eternal Creator.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि मेरा परमात्मा एक ऐसे व्यापारी की तरह है जो सहजता और प्राकृतिक लय के साथ अपना व्यापार करता है। वह बिना किसी भौतिक तराजू, डंडी या पलड़े के, संपूर्ण संसार के कर्मों और सत्य का सटीक मापन करता है।
