कबीर के दोहे (Kabir's Couplets)

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि यदि किसी ने नाव को समुद्र में उतार दिया है और उसमें नमक की एक छोटी सी राई के बराबर मात्रा भी मिला दी है, तो वह मार्ग को जानता है। जो व्यक्ति स्वयं अपने मार्ग का चालक है और सत्य की दिशा में अग्रसर है, उसे दुनिया की कोई भी शक्ति या भ्रमित करने वाली माया मार्ग से भटका नहीं सकती।

Meaning: Kabir suggests that once a boat has been launched into the ocean, even a tiny grain of salt added to it signifies a commitment to the journey. He asserts that one who possesses the inner guidance to navigate their own spiritual path, anchored in truth, cannot be led astray by the illusions of the world or external distractions.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि मनुष्य के अपने प्रयास और कर्म तब तक निष्फल हैं जब तक ईश्वर (राम) की कृपा और सहायता प्राप्त न हो। यदि परमात्मा का साथ नहीं है, तो व्यक्ति जिस भी नए मार्ग या प्रयास पर कदम रखता है, वह उसे भ्रमित करता है या वह मार्ग बार-बार बदलता रहता है, जिससे वह कभी गंतव्य तक नहीं पहुँच पाता।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that human effort and action remain futile unless supported by the grace and assistance of the Divine (Ram). Without the alignment of the cosmic will, every new path a person attempts to tread leads only to further disorientation or repetitive failure, preventing them from ever reaching their ultimate spiritual destination.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि यदि मैं इस संसार में जन्म लेकर केवल भौतिक इच्छाओं और मोह-माया के जाल में फँसा रहा, तो मुझे कहीं भी वास्तविक सुख प्राप्त नहीं हुआ। मैं जीवन भर सुख की तलाश में एक डाली से दूसरी डाली पर भटकता रहा, लेकिन मुझे हर पत्ते पर केवल दुख और असंतोष ही मिला।

He describes a restless journey, wandering from branch to branch in search of happiness, only to find that every single leaf bears the weight of sorrow and dissatisfaction.

अर्थ: इस दोहे में कबीर यह स्पष्ट करते हैं कि ब्रह्मांड की समस्त रचना और संचालन केवल उस परमात्मा (सांई) की इच्छा और शक्ति से होता है। मनुष्य, जो स्वयं को कर्ता मानता है, वास्तव में कुछ भी करने में सक्षम नहीं है। ईश्वर की अनंत शक्ति ऐसी है कि वह एक छोटे से राई के दाने को विशाल पर्वत बना सकता है और एक विशाल पर्वत को राई के दाने के समान सूक्ष्म कर सकता है।

Meaning: In this couplet, Kabir asserts that all creation and operation in the universe occur solely through the will and power of the Divine (Saai). The human being, who mistakenly perceives themselves as the 'doer,' possesses no independent power. The infinite potency of the Divine is such that it can expand a tiny mustard seed into a massive mountain or compress a towering mountain into the size of a mustard seed.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि केवल बाहरी दिखावे या शारीरिक क्रियाओं से मुक्ति नहीं मिलती। जब तक मन के भीतर गहरे भ्रम और अज्ञान का पर्दा नहीं हटता, तब तक वास्तविक सत्य का अनुभव नहीं होता। केवल निरंतर और सच्चे सुमिरन (स्मरण) के माध्यम से ही आत्मा उस परम तत्व के साथ एकाकार हो सकती है और सांसारिक बंधनों से मुक्त हो सकती है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that liberation cannot be achieved through mere external rituals or physical postures. Until the dense veil of delusion and ignorance is lifted from the consciousness, the ultimate truth remains hidden. Only through the unwavering and sincere practice of 'Sumiran' (mindful remembrance) can the soul merge with the Divine essence and break free from the shackles of worldly existence.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि अज्ञानी जीव शून्य (अज्ञान या मोह) में पड़ा हुआ है और वहां से छूट नहीं पा रहा है। हे नासमझ जीव, तू सुन! जब तक तू अपनी इंद्रियों और वासनाओं के साथ इस संसार रूपी मैदान में युद्ध नहीं करेगा और अपने अहंकार को नहीं मारेगा, तब तक तू इस बंधन से मुक्त नहीं हो पाएगा।

Meaning: Kabir addresses the ignorant soul, stating that it remains trapped in the void of delusion and cannot break free. He urges the oblivious spirit to listen: liberation is only possible when one enters the battlefield of existence and engages in a fierce struggle against the impulses of the senses, effectively 'dying' to the ego before physical death.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जिस प्रकार एक वीर योद्धा शेर के साथ युद्ध करता है और बिना साहस के कोई योद्धा नहीं कहला सकता, उसी प्रकार आध्यात्मिक मार्ग पर बिना आंतरिक साहस और वीरता के कोई व्यक्ति सत्य का अनुभव नहीं कर सकता और न ही उसे वास्तव में 'भला' या मुक्त कहा जा सकता है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that just as a brave warrior battles a lion and cannot be called a hero without courage, similarly, on the spiritual path, one cannot be deemed truly virtuous or liberated without the inner bravery to confront the ego and the illusions of the world.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जिसने अपनी आंतरिक अग्नि (आरणि) को प्रज्वलित कर लिया है और सांसारिक मोह-माया के शोर को पीछे छोड़ दिया है, वही वास्तव में वीर है। जब मनुष्य अपने अहंकार का त्याग कर परमात्मा के साथ एकाकार हो जाता है, तब वह उस शाश्वत सत्य को प्राप्त कर लेता है जो सदैव उसके भीतर और चारों ओर उपस्थित है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that the true warrior is one who has ignited the internal fire of spiritual discipline and left the clamor of worldly attachments behind. By aligning oneself with the Eternal Truth and dissolving the ego, the seeker becomes one with the Divine, realizing that the Presence of the Almighty is constant and omnipresent.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि अब उनका इस सांसारिक मोह-माया और झूठे रिश्तों से कोई नाता नहीं रहा; उनका प्रेम अब केवल उस निराकार परमात्मा (हरि) से है। उन्होंने अपनी समस्त ऊर्जा काम और क्रोध जैसे विकारों से लड़ने में लगा दी है, ठीक उसी तरह जैसे एक किसान अपने विस्तृत खेतों में मेहनत करता है ताकि अंत में भरपूर फसल काट सके।

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जब आत्मा ने सहज अवस्था और स्वाभाविक संयोग को धारण कर लिया है, तो अब बाहरी पांडित्य और बौद्धिक अहंकार के बोझ को ढोने की आवश्यकता नहीं है। अब समय है कि उस ज्ञान को व्यवहार में लाया जाए और जीवन के वास्तविक खेत में कर्म और भक्ति का बीजारोपण किया जाए।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that once the soul has embraced the state of 'Sahaj' (natural spontaneity) and the innate union with the Divine, there is no longer a need to carry the burden of intellectual pride or academic scholarship.
