कबीर के दोहे (Kabir's Couplets)

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि उन्होंने सीमाओं और द्वैत की दुनिया को त्यागकर उस असीम, अनंत परमात्मा में प्रवेश कर लिया है। उन्होंने 'शून्य' (परम शांति और रिक्तता) में स्नान किया है, जहाँ मन की सारी अशुद्धियाँ धुल गई हैं। यह वह उच्च आध्यात्मिक अवस्था है जहाँ साधारण तपस्वी या ज्ञानी भी नहीं पहुँच पाते, और वहीं आत्मा ने अपना अंतिम और शाश्वत विश्राम पाया है।

Meaning: Kabir proclaims that he has transcended the boundaries of the finite world to merge with the Infinite. He has bathed in the 'Shunya' (the Great Void), cleansing himself of all worldly impurities and dualities. This is a state of supreme consciousness that even the most learned sages struggle to attain, and it is here that the soul has finally found its eternal and absolute rest.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि मेरे जीवन की वर्तमान स्थिति और मेरे कर्मों को देखो, जो पिछले जन्मों के प्रारब्ध का परिणाम हैं। जिस अलौकिक और निराकार परमात्मा के महल तक पहुँचना बड़े-बड़े ऋषियों और मुनियों के लिए भी दुर्लभ है, उस अलेख (अदृश्य/अनाम) परमात्मा ने मुझे अपना मित्र बना लिया है।

Meaning: Kabir invites us to observe his life and actions as a manifestation of his destiny from previous births. He marvels that while the celestial abode of the Formless Divine remains inaccessible even to the most learned sages and ascetics, that very Ineffable One has chosen him—a simple weaver—as an intimate friend.

अर्थ: जब हृदय रूपी पिंजरे में ईश्वरीय प्रेम का प्रकाश फैलता है, तब अनंत योग की जागृति होती है। जब संसार के प्रति मोह और आसक्ति पूरी तरह समाप्त हो जाती है, तब वास्तविक सुख की प्राप्ति होती है क्योंकि आत्मा का मिलन अपने प्रियतम परमात्मा से हो जाता है।

Meaning: When the light of divine love illuminates the cage of the body, the infinite union of yoga awakens. Once the illusory attachments of the worldly existence are completely severed, true bliss emerges, for the soul has finally reunited with its Eternal Beloved.

अर्थ: जब हृदय रूपी पिंजरे में ईश्वरीय प्रेम का प्रकाश फैलता है, तो आत्मा के भीतर का सारा अंधकार मिट जाता है। जैसे कस्तूरी मृग के भीतर ही सुगंध होती है, वैसे ही जब यह आंतरिक सत्य जागृत होता है, तो व्यक्ति की वाणी से स्वतः ही प्रेम और दिव्यता की सुगंध फूटने लगती है।

Meaning: When the light of divine love illuminates the cage of the physical body, the inner darkness vanishes completely. Just as the musk resides within the deer, once the inner truth is awakened, the fragrance of divinity and love spontaneously emanates from the seeker's every word and action.

अर्थ: जब मनुष्य का मन पूरी तरह से उस आंतरिक मुनि या आध्यात्मिक चेतना में लीन हो जाता है, तो वह भौतिक सीमाओं को पार कर शून्य या आकाश की ऊंचाइयों तक पहुँच जाता है। वहां वह एक ऐसे प्रकाश और चंद्रमा का अनुभव करता है जो सांसारिक चंद्रमा से भिन्न है; वहां केवल वह अदृश्य, निष्कलंक और निराकार परमात्मा ही विराजमान है।

Meaning: When the mind becomes completely absorbed in the inner sage or the spiritual consciousness, it transcends physical boundaries and reaches the vast expanse of the cosmic void. There, one witnesses a lunar radiance unlike any earthly moon; in that celestial space, only the Invisible, Stainless, and Formless Absolute resides in supreme sovereignty.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जब मन उस निराकार, अव्यक्त परमात्मा (उनमुनि) में लीन हो जाता है, तो वह अपनी व्यक्तिगत पहचान और अहंकार से पूरी तरह अलग हो जाता है। यह मिलन ऐसा है जैसे नमक पानी में घुल जाता है; हालांकि नमक पानी में मौजूद है, लेकिन उसे अलग से देखा या छुआ नहीं जा सकता।

Meaning: Kabir explains that when the mind merges with the Formless Absolute (Unmani), it becomes completely detached from its individual identity and ego. This union is likened to salt dissolving in water; although the salt remains present within the water, it can no longer be perceived or separated as a distinct entity.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जल ही जम कर बर्फ बना, और फिर वही बर्फ पिघल कर वापस जल में मिल गई। जो कुछ भी था, वह अपने मूल स्वरूप में लौट आया। अब इस अवस्था के बारे में शब्दों में कुछ भी कहना संभव नहीं है क्योंकि यह अनुभव की पराकाष्ठा है।

Meaning: Kabir explains that water froze to become ice, and then that ice melted back into water. Whatever existed has returned to its original essence. Now, nothing more can be said in words, for the state of absolute oneness transcends all linguistic description.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि यह बहुत अच्छा हुआ कि मैं पूरी तरह टूट गया और मेरा अहंकार नष्ट हो गया, जिससे मेरी पुरानी मानसिक अवस्था और झूठी पहचान मिट गई। जैसे बर्फ पिघलकर पानी बन जाती है और अंततः अपनी मूल धारा या सागर में मिल जाती है, वैसे ही मेरा सीमित व्यक्तित्व विलीन होकर उस अनंत परमात्मा में समा गया।

Meaning: Kabir proclaims that it was a blessing to be utterly broken, for in that collapse, the false state of the ego and all previous delusions vanished. Just as ice melts into water and eventually flows back to merge with its original source, the limited individual identity dissolved to unite with the Infinite Divine.

अर्थ: यह दोहा आत्मा की उस तीव्र अवस्था का वर्णन करता है जहाँ साधक सांसारिक मोह और भौतिक सुखों के ऊँचे सिंहासनों को त्यागकर पूर्ण समर्पण की स्थिति में पहुँच जाता है। यहाँ मीरा के माध्यम से यह बताया गया है कि जब ईश्वर के प्रति प्रेम चरम पर होता है, तब व्यक्ति दुनिया के हर सहारे को छोड़ देता है और केवल परमात्मा की कृपा की कामना करता है, क्योंकि अब उसे किसी अन्य सांसारिक साथी की आवश्यकता नहीं रह जाती।

Meaning: This couplet describes the intense state of the soul where the seeker transcends the high pedestals of worldly attachments and material pleasures to reach a state of total surrender. Through the figure of Meera, it conveys that when love for the Divine reaches its zenith, the individual relinquishes all earthly supports and seeks only the grace of the Almighty, for they no longer require the companionship of any mortal being.

अर्थ: यह दोहा आत्मा की उस विस्मृति अवस्था का वर्णन करता है जहाँ जीव अपनी मूल पहचान को भूलकर सांसारिक माया के जाल में फंस गया है। जैसे एक पक्षी आकाश की ऊंचाइयों में उड़कर अपने मूल स्थान को भूल जाता है और परदेस में भटकता है, वैसे ही मनुष्य अपनी दिव्य प्रकृति को भूलकर भौतिक जगत को ही सत्य मान बैठा है, जबकि वह बिना किसी भौतिक साधन के भी उस परम तत्व से जुड़ा था।

Meaning: This couplet describes the state of forgetfulness of the soul, where the living entity, trapped in the web of worldly illusion, has forgotten its original identity. Just as a bird flies high into the sky and wanders into a foreign land, forgetting its home, humans have mistaken the material world for the ultimate truth, forgetting that they were once connected to the Divine Essence without the need for any physical medium.
