अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि यदि कोई व्यक्ति नौ मन दूध इकट्ठा करे, लेकिन उसमें एक छोटी सी बूंद जहर या खटास की गिर जाए, तो सारा दूध फट जाता है और वह कांजी (खट्टा तरल) बन जाता है। इस प्रक्रिया में उस दूध के भीतर छिपा हुआ घी (सार तत्व) भी पूरी तरह नष्ट हो जाता है।

Meaning: Kabir explains that if one gathers nine mounds of pure milk, but a single drop of impurity or acidity falls into it, the entire volume curdles and turns into a sour liquid. Meaning: Just as a wanderer lingers in a garden, captivated by the fragrance of countless flowers and forgetting his destination, a human soul becomes so entangled in the lures of sensory pleasures and worldly desires that, in the end, they depart from this life feeling empty and utterly disappointed.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि मनुष्य का शरीर लाभ और वासनाओं से बनी एक ऐसी नाव है, जिसमें उसने अहंकार और सांसारिक मोह-माया रूपी भारी पत्थरों को लाद रखा है। विडंबना यह है कि वह अपने सिर पर क्रोध, ईर्ष्या और अज्ञान रूपी विष की पोटली रखे हुए है, फिर भी वह इस भवसागर से पार उतरने की इच्छा रखता है।

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि हे आत्मा (हंस), तू वास्तव में अत्यंत शक्तिशाली और दिव्य था, परंतु तेरी चंचलता और सांसारिक मोह ने तुझे कमजोर बना दिया। तू पहले से ही उस परमात्मा के शुद्ध और दिव्य रंग में रंगा हुआ था, फिर तूने इस दुनिया के बाहरी, कृत्रिम और क्षणभंगुर रंगों को अपने ऊपर क्यों लगाया?

Meaning: If a person's heart is deeply enamored by worldly pleasures and sensory attachments, the Divine cannot reside within. Conversely, once the Divine takes abode in the heart, the mind naturally ceases to crave the illusory attractions of the material world.
