अर्थ: यह दोहा विरह की उस तीव्र अवस्था का वर्णन करता है जहाँ साधक ईश्वर के दर्शन के लिए व्याकुल है। कबीर कहते हैं कि यदि परमात्मा का साक्षात्कार मृत्यु के पश्चात होता है, तो उस दर्शन का कोई मूल्य नहीं है; वास्तविक उपलब्धि वर्तमान जीवन में जीवित रहते हुए उस परम सत्य का अनुभव करना है।

Meaning: This couplet describes the intense state of longing where the seeker is desperate for a vision of the Divine. Kabir asserts that if the realization of the Truth occurs only after death, such a vision is useless; the only meaningful achievement is the experiential realization of the Supreme Truth while still alive in this physical body.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि मैं इस संसार रूपी गहरे सागर के बीच में हूँ और मैंने एक सांप रूपी सहारे (वेड़े) को पकड़ रखा है। यदि मैं इस सांप को छोड़ दूँ, तो मैं गहरे पानी में डूब जाऊँगा, और यदि मैं इसे मजबूती से पकड़े रखूँ, तो यह सांप मुझे डस लेगा। यह जीवन की उस दुविधा को दर्शाता है जहाँ व्यक्ति माया और मोह के जाल में फँसा होता है।

Meaning: Kabir describes a harrowing paradox: he is adrift in the vast ocean of worldly existence (Bhavsagar), clinging to a support that turns out to be a venomous serpent. Meaning: Kabir invites us to observe his life and actions as a manifestation of his destiny from previous births. He marvels that while the celestial abode of the Formless Divine remains inaccessible even to the most learned sages and ascetics, that very Ineffable One has chosen him—a simple weaver—as an intimate friend.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जल ही जम कर बर्फ बना, और फिर वही बर्फ पिघल कर वापस जल में मिल गई। जो कुछ भी था, वह अपने मूल स्वरूप में लौट आया। अब इस अवस्था के बारे में शब्दों में कुछ भी कहना संभव नहीं है क्योंकि यह अनुभव की पराकाष्ठा है।

Meaning: Kabir explains that water froze to become ice, and then that ice melted back into water. Whatever existed has returned to its original essence. Now, nothing more can be said in words, for the state of absolute oneness transcends all linguistic description.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि मनुष्य बाहरी उपहारों और भेंटों से अपनी गोद भर लेता है और मन में धैर्य रखने का ढोंग करता है। परंतु वे प्रश्न करते हैं कि परमात्मा या सत्य से मिलन कैसे संभव है, जब तक कि व्यक्ति के भीतर 'दो शरीर' यानी द्वैत का भाव मौजूद है।

Meaning: Kabir observes that humans fill their arms with material offerings and pretend to possess patience in their hearts. However, he poses a profound question: how can one truly unite with the Divine or the Ultimate Truth as long as the perception of 'two bodies'—the duality between the self and the other—persists?

अर्थ: जिन्होंने उस परम सत्य या ईश्वर का अनुभव कर लिया है, उन्होंने एक ऐसे अनमोल रत्न को पा लिया है जिसका स्वाद उनकी आत्मा की जिह्वा पर बस गया है। इस अलौकिक आनंद की प्राप्ति के बाद, संसार की समस्त भौतिक इच्छाएं और सांसारिक विवाद निरर्थक और तुच्छ लगने लगते हैं।

Meaning: Those who have realized the Supreme Truth have grasped a divine treasure, and their inner tongue now tastes the eternal nectar of bliss. Having attained this unique and peerless jewel of consciousness, the conflicts, desires, and distractions of the material world lose all significance and fade into insignificance.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जिस प्रकार बिना नींव के कोई भवन या महल खड़ा नहीं रह सकता, उसी प्रकार बिना शरीर के (या शारीरिक चेतना के विसर्जन के बिना) परमात्मा का साक्षात्कार संभव नहीं है। जो व्यक्ति इस सत्य को समझने में देरी करता है, वह वास्तव में केवल आलस्य और मोह की सेवा कर रहा है।
