अर्थ: कबीर दास जी कहते हैं कि केवल एक उच्च या प्रतिष्ठित कुल में जन्म लेने से कोई व्यक्ति महान नहीं बन जाता, यदि उसके कर्म निम्न और अधम हैं। यह वैसा ही है जैसे सोने का एक सुंदर कलश हो, लेकिन उसके भीतर केवल नशीली शराब भरी हो, जो साधु-संतों की निंदा और अहंकार से पूर्ण है; बाहरी चमक आंतरिक गंदगी को नहीं छुपा सकती।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that being born into a high or prestigious lineage does not grant a person greatness if their actions remain lowly and ignoble. He compares such a person to a golden pitcher filled with intoxicating wine; while the exterior is glittering and precious, the interior contains only intoxication and the habit of slandering the virtuous, proving that outward status cannot mask inner void.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि वह कुल या वंश वास्तव में श्रेष्ठ है, जहाँ निस्वार्थ सेवा और समर्पण की भावना रखने वाले 'दास' (भक्त या विनम्र व्यक्ति) जन्म लेते हैं। जिस कुल में विनम्रता और सेवा भाव का अभाव होता है, वह कुल आक या पलास के वृक्ष के समान है, जो देखने में तो हो सकते हैं परंतु आध्यात्मिक रूप से निष्फल और निरर्थक होते हैं।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that the only truly noble lineage is one that produces a 'daas'—a servant of the Divine characterized by humility and selfless devotion. A lineage that fails to cultivate such spiritual humility is likened to the Aak or Palas trees; though they exist physically, they are spiritually barren and devoid of any true essence or value.

अर्थ: जब तक मनुष्य अपनी जाति, कुल और सामाजिक पहचान के अहंकार से जुड़ा रहता है, तब तक वह सच्ची भक्ति प्राप्त नहीं कर सकता। जब वह गुरु के मार्गदर्शन में इन सांसारिक और कृत्रिम बंधनों को तोड़ देता है, तभी वास्तविक भक्ति का उदय होता है।

Meaning: As long as a person remains tethered to the ego of caste, lineage, and social identity, true devotion remains unattainable. Only when these artificial worldly bonds are severed through the guidance of a Guru does genuine spiritual devotion manifest.

अर्थ: कबीर यहाँ उस पाखंडी व्यक्ति पर प्रहार कर रहे हैं जो बड़े पैमाने पर अधर्म और चोरी करता है, लेकिन दुनिया को दिखाने के लिए एक सुई जैसा छोटा सा दान करता है। वह व्यक्ति अपनी झूठी प्रतिष्ठा के अहंकार में इतना अंधा है कि वह सोचता है कि उसका यह छोटा सा दिखावा उसे मोक्ष या आध्यात्मिक ऊंचाई तक ले जाएगा, जबकि वास्तव में वह सत्य से बहुत दूर है।

Meaning: Kabir critiques the hypocrite who commits grand thefts or injustices yet offers a trivial donation, like a needle, to project an image of piety. Such a person, blinded by the ego of their own perceived righteousness, believes this superficial act of charity will elevate them spiritually, unaware that they remain profoundly distant from the actual path of liberation.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि ऐसी जगहों या लोगों के सान्निध्य में नहीं जाना चाहिए जहाँ केवल कुल, वंश या पारिवारिक प्रतिष्ठा का अहंकार हो। ऐसे लोग वास्तविक साधुता या आध्यात्मिक ज्ञान से अनभिज्ञ होते हैं, लेकिन केवल अपने पूर्वजों या पिता के नाम के सहारे अपनी श्रेष्ठता सिद्ध करने का प्रयास करते हैं।

Meaning: Kabir warns against seeking company or solace in places where lineage, caste, or family prestige is the primary value. Such individuals lack true spiritual realization or 'Sadhupana' (saintliness), yet they rely solely on the inherited name of their ancestors to claim a status they have not earned through their own consciousness.

अर्थ: यह संपूर्ण संसार भ्रम और मोह में फँसा हुआ है, जहाँ हर व्यक्ति किसी न किसी सामाजिक पहचान, पद, जाति या अहंकार की उपाधि से बंधा हुआ है। इस अज्ञानता के गहरे जाल से मानवता को मुक्त करने और उन्हें सत्य का मार्ग दिखाने के लिए ही इस संसार में संतों और सद्गुरुओं का अवतरण होता है।

Meaning: The entire world is wandering in a state of profound delusion, where every individual is shackled by 'upadh'—the superficial labels of caste, creed, status, and ego. To rescue humanity from this intricate web of ignorance and to guide them toward the ultimate truth, enlightened saints and spiritual masters manifest in this world.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि सांसारिक मान-सम्मान और बड़प्पन केवल एक दिखावा या शोर है, जिसे वास्तव में संत और ज्ञानी लोग व्यर्थ का बोझ या दुख मानते हैं। असली पवित्रता बाहरी प्रतिष्ठा में नहीं, बल्कि आंतरिक शुद्धि और समर्पण में है, जैसे पांडवों ने अहंकार का त्याग कर सत्य के मार्ग पर चलकर जगत में पावनता प्राप्त की।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that worldly honor and the pursuit of prestige are merely superficial noises, which the enlightened saints perceive as a burden or a source of distress. True purity does not reside in external accolades but in inner purification and surrender, mirroring how the Pandavas attained universal sanctity by shedding ego and adhering to the path of Truth.

अर्थ: संसार के लोग केवल बाहरी मान-सम्मान, प्रतिष्ठा और बड़प्पन को देखकर भक्ति या श्रद्धा प्रकट करते हैं। लेकिन जैसे ही उन्हें उस व्यक्ति में कोई कमी या साधारणता दिखाई देती है, वे तुरंत उसे तुच्छ समझने लगते हैं और उसके दोषों को गिनाने लगते हैं।

Meaning: The world tends to offer devotion and respect based solely on outward status, prestige, and perceived greatness. However, the moment a flaw or a sign of insignificance is noticed, the same people quickly dismiss the individual and focus entirely on their shortcomings.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि कंकड़ और पत्थरों को जोड़कर एक मस्जिद बनाई गई है, जिस पर चढ़कर मुल्ला जोर-जोर से अजान देता है। लेकिन विडंबना यह है कि जिस ईश्वर को वह पुकार रहा है, वह बहरा हो गया है या फिर वह पुकार उस तक पहुँच ही नहीं रही क्योंकि वह ईश्वर पत्थरों की दीवारों में नहीं रहता।

Meaning: Kabir observes that a mosque has been constructed by piling up pebbles and stones. Upon this structure, the cleric climbs to call the faithful to prayer, yet Kabir ironically remarks that God must have become deaf. The essence is that the Divine cannot be confined within stone walls nor reached through loud, ritualistic shouting.

अर्थ: कबीर दास जी कहते हैं कि उस पत्थर की पूजा करने का क्या लाभ जो बोल नहीं सकता और न ही कोई उत्तर दे सकता है? वह व्यक्ति वास्तव में अंधा है जो केवल बाहरी आशाओं और मृत प्रतीकों के सहारे अपनी जीवन शक्ति और समय को व्यर्थ नष्ट कर देता है।

Meaning: Kabir questions the futility of worshipping a stone that remains silent and unresponsive. He asserts that a person is spiritually blind when they cling to external rituals and inanimate idols, thereby wasting their precious life essence and spiritual potential in pursuit of a void.
