Meaning: One who remembers the Divine with a desire for reward or worldly gain attains a superior state or a heavenly abode. However, one who remembers the Divine with complete detachment, devoid of all selfish desires, attains the Eternal Ram—the unchanging, absolute Truth that transcends all existence.

Meaning: Kabir advises practicing remembrance of the Divine with absolute conscious awareness while maintaining external silence. He urges the seeker to shut the doors of the external sensory world and open the inner portals of the heart to realize the inherent divinity within.

Meaning: Kabir explains that when one's conscious awareness (Surati) becomes completely absorbed in the Divine Name, a natural detachment from the worldly illusions and chaotic distractions of the material world arises. To achieve this state of transcendence, one must maintain an unwavering and absolute faith in the guidance of the Guru.

Meaning: Kabir urges the seeker to attach their mind to the remembrance of the Divine with the same absolute intensity as a moth is drawn to a flame. Just as the moth surrenders its entire existence in a single moment of union with the light, the devotee must dissolve their ego into the Infinite, achieving a state where the separation between the seeker and the sought vanishes entirely.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that human consciousness and attention are hopelessly entangled in the webs of the material world and worldly attachments, causing a profound separation from the divine source. The only remedy is to bind this wandering consciousness, stabilize it through discipline, and maintain an unwavering awareness of the Eternal Presence throughout every moment of the day and night.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that a leper who constantly chants the name of the Divine, even as their skin and flesh peel away, is far superior to a person possessing a golden, flawless physique whose heart and lips are devoid of the Divine presence. True beauty lies in spiritual alignment, not physical perfection.

Meaning: Kabir observes that while the prayer beads rotate in the hand and the tongue chants mantras within the mouth, the mind continues to wander in all four directions. He asserts that such external ritualism is not true remembrance (Sumiran), as genuine devotion requires the alignment of the mind, not just the body.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that those who engage in endless arguments and intellectual disputes are merely demonstrating their ignorance and attachment to the ego. True saints and enlightened souls have no leisure for such futile conflicts, as they are perpetually immersed in the remembrance of the Formless Divine and the stillness of the inner self.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that one who exists without the realization of Ram (the Divine) cannot escape the clutches of Yama, the god of death. However, the seeker who burns in the agony of separation from the Divine attains a spiritual intensity so profound that even the lord of death is intimidated by their presence.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that those who spend their lives merely talking about knowledge and engaging in endless intellectual debates are wasting their existence. Theoretical knowledge alone cannot lead to liberation. The True Guru teaches that instead of the noise of words, one must cultivate a steady, internal remembrance (Sumiran) of the Divine to achieve genuine spiritual realization.
