अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि दुनिया में बातें करने वाले और उपदेश देने वाले बहुत मिल जाते हैं, लेकिन वास्तविक आध्यात्मिक ज्ञान का आभूषण प्राप्त करना अत्यंत कठिन है। सच्चा गुरु या ज्ञानी वह है जो उस सत्य का बोध कराए जिसे बाहरी गहनों या दिखावे से नहीं मापा जा सकता, बल्कि जो आत्मा की आंतरिक शुद्धता में निहित है।

Meaning: Kabir observes that while there is no shortage of people who can speak eloquently or offer superficial advice, those who possess the true 'ornament' of spiritual realization are rare. The true seeker or guide is one who reveals the knowledge of that which is not a physical ornament, but the intrinsic, formless radiance of the soul.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि अज्ञान की नींद में सोने वाले का क्या लाभ? अब जाग जाओ और उस अविनाशी परमात्मा का स्मरण करो। क्योंकि एक दिन ऐसा समय आएगा जब तुम्हें अनंत काल के लिए गहरी नींद में सोना होगा, जहाँ से कोई वापसी नहीं है।

Meaning: Kabir asks what use is there in remaining asleep in the slumber of ignorance. He urges the seeker to awaken and meditate upon the Eternal Divine, for a day will inevitably come when one must sleep the final, eternal sleep, stretching out one's limbs in permanent stillness.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि यह मन एक अनियंत्रित हाथी की तरह है, जिसे निरंतर अनुशासन और जागरूकता के अंकुश से नियंत्रित रखना आवश्यक है। यदि हम इस मन की विषैली बेलों (विकारों) को नहीं काटेंगे, तो हम कभी भी आध्यात्मिक आनंद और अमृत रूपी फल का अनुभव नहीं कर पाएंगे।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that the human mind is akin to a wild, unrestrained elephant that must be kept in check through the constant application of the 'ankush' or goad of mindfulness. Only by pruning the poisonous vines of desire and ego can one eventually taste the nectar of divine liberation.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that this world is an illusion with no permanent substance, fluctuating like taste between saltiness and sweetness. He observes that the one who sat proudly amidst vast treasures and ego yesterday is seen today reduced to ashes or oblivion.

अर्थ: कबीर दास जी कहते हैं कि व्यक्ति को स्वयं धोखा खाने या दूसरों के प्रति उदार रहने में संकोच नहीं करना चाहिए, लेकिन उसे कभी किसी अन्य को ठगना या धोखा देना नहीं चाहिए। यदि हम स्वयं ठगे जाते हैं, तो अंततः हमें मानसिक शांति और आध्यात्मिक सुख मिलता है, परंतु यदि हम दूसरों को ठगते हैं, तो वह कर्म बंधन और दुख का कारण बनता है।
