Meaning: If one does not know the name or the location of their true destination (the Divine or Truth), they will inevitably lose their way in the journey of life. When the inevitable hour of reckoning arrives and the thorns of suffering pierce the soul, the ignorant will find themselves helpless and overwhelmed by agony.

Meaning: This physical body is composed of the five primordial elements—earth, water, fire, air, and ether—and shall eventually return to them. While the soul identifies as the doer, it is actually bound by the laws of karma, which govern the cycle of existence and the destiny of the living being.

Meaning: The human body is a composite of five primordial elements: earth, water, fire, air, and ether. While we identify this physical form as 'human,' the essence within is a fragment of the Divine. Having been severed from that singular, primordial Source, the soul wanders in perpetual restlessness and longing across all realms of existence.

Meaning: Within this physical body, composed of the five primordial elements, lies a hidden and sacred sanctuary where the Divine resides. Very few are capable of uncovering this profound secret; it is revealed only through the authentic guidance and the transformative word of a realized Guru.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that the human body is a composite of the five primordial elements—earth, water, fire, air, and ether—crafted by a divine cosmic design. He poses a provocative question to the learned scholars: which is truly superior—the 'Shabd' (the primordial Sound or Divine Word/Knowledge) that initiated creation, or the 'Jeev' (the individual soul) that inhabits this physical form?

Meaning: The entire world has lost its way by clinging to partiality and dualities—the obsession with 'mine' and 'thine,' or the divide between different sects and beliefs. Only the one who transcends these biases and worships the Divine from a state of absolute neutrality and equanimity is truly a wise soul and a genuine saint.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that humans have wasted their existence chasing external validations and superficial rituals. He urges the seekers to contemplate the tragedy of those who, paralyzed by social shame and the fear of judgment, suppressed their inner truth. Consequently, they perished in the grip of time, never realizing their true essence before death claimed them.

Meaning: Kabir explains that seeking spiritual liberation without the necessary foundation is as futile as expecting a breeze to carry one atop a mountain or reaching a village without a mount. He emphasizes that just as a bumblebee cannot find nectar without a flower, and a flower cannot exist without a plant, a seeker cannot attain divine bliss without the seed of discipline and the bloom of a Guru's grace.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that the fruit of human life has ripened and the time is slipping away, yet people treat this urgency as a mere festival or a distant event. He urges the seeker to cease their preoccupation with future anxieties and instead call out to the primordial source from which they originated.

Meaning: Kabir observes that humans, blinded by ego and limited intellect, attempt to measure the infinite nature of existence and time. They believe they can fathom the depths of the ocean or weigh mountains in their palms, yet they remain oblivious to the inevitable arrival of death, which eventually consumes them all.
