अर्थ: यदि मनुष्य केवल बाहरी दिखावे या सांसारिक चक्करों में उलझा रहे, तो वह जीवन के वास्तविक उद्देश्य को कभी प्राप्त नहीं कर सकता। बिना एक सच्चे गुरु के मार्गदर्शन के, जो अज्ञानता के पर्दे को हटा सके, आत्मा जन्म और मृत्यु के चौरासी लाख योनियों के अंतहीन चक्र में फंसी रहती है।

Meaning: If a person merely revolves in the circles of worldly appearances and superficial rituals, they shall never cross the ocean of existence. Without the guidance of a true spiritual teacher to awaken the dormant consciousness, the soul remains trapped in the relentless cycle of eighty-four thousand births and deaths.

अर्थ: कबीर यहाँ इस विडंबना पर प्रहार कर रहे हैं कि लोग बाहरी दिखावे और पवित्र स्थानों की पूजा तो करते हैं, लेकिन उन स्थानों की वास्तविक पवित्रता को नष्ट करने वाले तत्वों की अनदेखी करते हैं। यदि एक कौवा किसी पवित्र मठ के ऊपर गंदगी फैलाता है, तो वह मठ की बाहरी संरचना को नहीं, बल्कि वहां के पाखंड और अशुद्धता को उजागर करता है।

Meaning: Kabir critiques the irony of people venerating external symbols of holiness while ignoring the internal decay. He suggests that if a crow defiles a monastery with its droppings, it does not destroy the sanctuary's essence, but rather exposes the superficiality of those who believe holiness resides in bricks and mortar rather than in the purity of the soul.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जो व्यक्ति केवल मन के दिखावे और बाहरी आभूषणों को ही भक्ति समझता है, वह वास्तव में आध्यात्मिक मार्ग पर भटक रहा है। यदि कोई साधक गुरु द्वारा दिए गए सरल लेकिन गहरे मंत्र (दो अक्षरों) की उपेक्षा करता है या उसे केवल बाहरी शोर समझकर अनसुना कर देता है, तो वह जन्म-मरण के चक्र और यमलोक के कष्टों से मुक्त नहीं हो पाता।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that one who treats spirituality as a mere ornament of the mind or an external display of piety is fundamentally mistaken. If a seeker ignores the profound essence of the two-syllable mantra given by the Guru, treating the guidance as noise or irrelevant, they remain trapped in the cycle of birth and death, unable to escape the tribulations of the afterlife.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि तुम व्यर्थ में उन विद्वानों या पाखंडी सभाओं में बैठने का प्रयास न करो जहाँ केवल बाहरी दिखावा और अहंकार का बोलबाला है। जिस प्रकार एक गड़रिया रोज़ गायों को चराता है, लेकिन वह कभी वास्तव में महान या ज्ञानी नहीं बन जाता, वैसे ही केवल धार्मिक चर्चाओं में बैठने से ज्ञान प्राप्त नहीं होता।

Meaning: Kabir warns against seeking validation or spiritual growth by attending assemblies of pretentious scholars or ritualistic gatherings. He argues that mere presence in such circles is futile; just as a shepherd does not become a master of wisdom simply by tending to his cattle every day, one does not achieve enlightenment merely by associating with the outwardly religious.

अर्थ: वह व्यक्ति वास्तव में भटक जाता है या आध्यात्मिक रूप से नष्ट हो जाता है, जिसके मन में संदेह का वास होता है। जिसने सोने के कटोरे (परम सत्य और ईश्वरीय ज्ञान) को त्याग कर संदेह रूपी तुच्छ वस्तु को अपने हाथ में थाम लिया है, वह जीवन के वास्तविक उद्देश्य से पूरी तरह विमुख हो गया है।

Meaning: The one who is truly lost or spiritually ruined is the person harbored by doubt. He who has discarded the golden bowl of divine certainty and spiritual realization, only to grasp the wretched tool of skepticism and hesitation, has wandered away from the path of ultimate truth.

अर्थ: कबीर दास जी चेतावनी देते हैं कि ऐसे व्यक्तियों का साथ नहीं करना चाहिए जो कुबेर की तरह केवल धन-संपत्ति और भौतिक सुखों के संचय में लगे रहते हैं। ऐसे लोभी और अहंकारी लोगों के साथ चलने से मनुष्य आध्यात्मिक पतन की ओर जाता है, जो अंततः मानसिक और आत्मिक नरक का कारण बनता है।

Meaning: Kabir warns against the company of those who, like Kuber (the treasurer of gods), are obsessively consumed by the accumulation of wealth and material luxury. To walk the path of such ego-driven individuals is to invite spiritual decay, leading the soul into a living hell of greed and detachment from the Divine.

अर्थ: हे नासमझ मनुष्य, बाहरी सहारे या झूठे अवलंबों पर भरोसा मत करो, क्योंकि इसमें केवल हानि और भ्रम है। जब तुम इन सांसारिक और मानसिक टेक को त्याग देते हो, तभी तुम्हें उस असली 'माणिक' यानी आत्म-साक्षात्कार या परमात्मा की प्राप्ति होती है, जैसा कि सच्चे गुरु के प्रमाणित शब्दों में कहा गया है।

Meaning: O foolish soul, do not lean upon external supports or false crutches, for there is only loss and delusion in such reliance. Only when you abandon these worldly and mental dependencies do you find the true 'ruby'—the realization of the Self or the Divine—as attested by the proven words of the True Guru.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि चाहे वह सूअर हो, कोई अन्य पशु हो या मनुष्य, अज्ञानता की स्थिति में सबकी गति एक समान ही होती है। मनुष्य करोड़ों प्रयास करता है, अनेक कठिन साधनाएं और कर्मकांड करता है, फिर भी वह अपने अहंकार और मोह के सहारे को नहीं छोड़ पाता।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that whether it is a swine, another animal, or a human, their state remains identical when shrouded in ignorance. Despite millions of efforts and the performance of rigorous rituals, the human being refuses to relinquish their stubborn attachment to the ego and worldly delusions.

अर्थ: जब सत्य या ईश्वर का साक्षात्कार होता है, तो अज्ञानी व्यक्ति भय और मोह के कारण संकुचित हो जाता है। वह प्रेम और भक्ति के वास्तविक स्वरूप को नहीं पहचान पाता और अंततः जीवन के परम लक्ष्य से वंचित रह जाता है।

Meaning: When the Truth or the Divine manifests, the ignorant soul shrinks in fear and attachment. Failing to comprehend the essence of selfless love and devotion, the fool misses the singular opportunity for liberation.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि यदि घर के भीतर ही द्वंद्व और कलह व्याप्त है, तो व्यक्ति स्वयं को आध्यात्मिक या वैरागी नहीं कह सकता। जब एक ही हृदय या जीवन में दो विपरीत विचार या दिशाएं हों, तो सच्ची भक्ति का उदय असंभव है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that if conflict and discord reside within one's own home or heart, claiming to be a renunciant or a seeker is futile. When a single existence is split between two opposing inclinations or contradictory beliefs, true devotion cannot possibly blossom.
