अर्थ: कबीर दास जी कहते हैं कि मनुष्य पत्थर की मूर्तियों की पूजा करके इस संसार रूपी सागर से पार उतरना चाहता है। यह वैसा ही है जैसे कोई नदी पार करने के लिए पानी में उतरने के बजाय, अपने सिर पर भारी पत्थर रखकर नदी में कूद जाए; वह पार होने के बजाय डूब जाएगा।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that humans seek liberation from the cycle of worldly existence by worshipping stone idols. He compares this act to someone attempting to cross a river by carrying a heavy stone upon their head; instead of reaching the other shore, the weight of the stone ensures they sink into the depths.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जिस व्यक्ति में विवेक या आध्यात्मिक ज्ञान का अभाव होता है, वह वास्तव में अज्ञानी और गंवार है। ऐसा व्यक्ति अपनी चेतना खो चुका होता है और बाहरी दुनिया के प्रभाव में इस प्रकार नाचता है जैसे कोई पिंजरे में कैद बंदर दूसरों के मनोरंजन के लिए हर दरवाजे पर नाचने को मजबूर होता है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that a person devoid of spiritual intellect or discernment is truly ignorant. Such an individual lacks self-awareness and becomes a puppet to external influences, mirroring a captive monkey forced to dance from door to door for the amusement of others, having lost its own autonomy.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि यह संसार पत्थर और पानी की मूर्तियों की पूजा करते-करते थक गया और अंततः मृत्यु को प्राप्त हो गया, लेकिन सत्य का ज्ञान नहीं पा सका। जो व्यक्ति इस बाहरी आडंबर और आंतरिक सत्य के बीच के सूक्ष्म अंतर को समझ लेता है, वही इस संसार रूपी सागर से पार उतर पाता है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that the world has exhausted itself in the worship of stone and water, meeting death without ever realizing the Truth. Only those who discern the fundamental difference between external ritualism and the internal realization of the Divine are able to cross the ocean of worldly existence.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि एक तोता पंख होने के बावजूद दूसरों के नियंत्रण में रहता है क्योंकि उसमें विवेक की कमी है। इसी प्रकार, मनुष्य के पास बुद्धि और चेतना होने के बावजूद, वह आध्यात्मिक ज्ञान के अभाव में इस सांसारिक माया और मोह के बंधनों में जकड़ा रहता है।

Meaning: Kabir observes that a parrot, despite possessing wings for flight, remains captive because it lacks the wisdom to free itself. Similarly, a human being, despite having the intellectual capacity for liberation, remains enslaved by the illusions of the material world due to a lack of true spiritual discernment.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जिस प्रकार एक बुद्धिहीन शेर, जो अपनी शक्ति से अनजान है, खरगोशों के झुंड के साथ रहने लगता है और अंततः अपनी ही परछाई या प्रतिबिंब देखकर डर जाता है और स्वयं को नष्ट कर लेता है, वैसे ही मनुष्य अपनी वास्तविक आध्यात्मिक शक्ति को भूलकर सांसारिक भ्रमों और तुच्छ प्रवृत्तियों के वश में हो जाता है।

Meaning: Kabir illustrates that just as a witless lion, unaware of its own innate power, begins to live among rabbits and eventually becomes terrified upon seeing its own reflection, thereby destroying itself, a human being forgets their true spiritual potency and becomes enslaved by worldly illusions and trivialities.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि अज्ञानी व्यक्ति को सत्य का बोध नहीं होता; वह बार-बार मंदिर और बाहरी तीर्थों की यात्रा करता रहता है। वह इस बात से पूरी तरह अनजान है कि ईश्वर का वास्तविक निवास उसके अपने हृदय के भीतर है, और वह पत्थर की मूर्तियों से अपनी मुक्ति या शांति पाने की व्यर्थ कोशिश करता रहता है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that the spiritually ignorant fail to perceive the truth; they tirelessly visit temples and external shrines in search of the divine. They remain oblivious to the fact that the true sanctuary is within their own heart, mistakenly believing that a stone idol can provide the liberation or spiritual solace they seek.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि यदि व्यक्ति के भीतर धैर्य, सच्चाई और अडिग विश्वास (सिदक) नहीं है, तो बाहरी तीर्थयात्राओं या हज जैसे कर्मकांडों का कोई मूल्य नहीं है। जिस हृदय में ईश्वर के प्रति सच्ची निष्ठा और स्थिरता नहीं है, वह व्यक्ति ईश्वर को कभी प्राप्त नहीं कर सकता क्योंकि परमात्मा बाहरी स्थानों में नहीं, बल्कि शुद्ध अंतःकरण में निवास करता है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that if a person lacks inner patience, truthfulness, and unwavering faith (Sidak), external pilgrimages or rituals like the Hajj are meaningless. One whose heart is not steadfast and sincere in its devotion cannot attain the Divine, for the Almighty resides not in distant geographical locations, but within the purity of a stabilized heart.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि उन्हें सालिगराम जैसे पत्थर की मूर्तियों या बाहरी प्रतीकों पर कोई विश्वास नहीं है। वे चेतावनी देते हैं कि समय (काल) का प्रहार इतना शक्तिशाली है कि ये भौतिक वस्तुएं और उनके प्रति अंधविश्वास एक क्षण में नष्ट हो जाते हैं, क्योंकि सत्य केवल निराकार ईश्वर में है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that he places no faith in the Saligram or any external stone idols. He warns that the devastating blow of Time (Kaal) is so absolute that these physical manifestations and the delusions attached to them vanish in an instant, for ultimate truth resides only in the Formless Divine.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि बाहरी कर्मकांड, जैसे पूजा, सेवा, नियम और व्रत, केवल बच्चों के खिलौनों के खेल की तरह हैं। जब तक आत्मा का मिलन अपने वास्तविक प्रियतम (परमात्मा) से नहीं हो जाता, तब तक मनुष्य केवल संदेहों और भ्रमों के जाल में उलझा रहता है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that external rituals—worship, service, strict rules, and fasting—are merely child's play with dolls. Until the soul is touched by the Divine Beloved, the seeker remains entangled in a chaotic web of doubts, illusions, and superficial practices.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि यदि पत्थर की मूर्ति की पूजा करने से ईश्वर की प्राप्ति हो सकती है, तो मैं पूरे पहाड़ की पूजा करने को तैयार हूँ। लेकिन उससे बेहतर तो वह चक्की है, जिसका उपयोग करके पिसा हुआ अनाज पूरा संसार खाता है और अपनी भूख मिटाता है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that if worshipping a stone idol could truly lead to the realization of the Divine, he would gladly worship an entire mountain. However, he argues that a grinding stone (chakki) is far more virtuous, as it serves a practical purpose by grinding grain that feeds the entire world.
