आंतरिक शक्ति (Inner Strength) — Kabir Dohas

अर्थ: एक सच्चा संत अपनी सज्जनता और पवित्रता का त्याग कभी नहीं करता, चाहे उसके चारों ओर लाखों दुष्ट या नकारात्मक लोग ही क्यों न हों। जिस प्रकार चंदन के पेड़ पर जहरीले सांप लिपटे रहते हैं, फिर भी चंदन अपनी शीतलता और सुगंध नहीं छोड़ता, उसी तरह एक आत्मज्ञानी व्यक्ति अपनी आंतरिक शांति और करुणा को बाहरी परिस्थितियों से प्रभावित नहीं होने देता।

Meaning: A true saint never abandons their innate goodness and spiritual integrity, even if surrounded by millions of the wicked or ignorant. Just as the sandalwood tree retains its cooling essence and fragrance even when venomous serpents coil around it, a realized soul remains anchored in peace and compassion, regardless of the toxicity of their external environment.

अर्थ: इस दोहे में कबीर कहते हैं कि जब शरीर के भीतर की आध्यात्मिक ज्योति या 'मणि' जागृत होती है, तब व्यक्ति बाहरी आडंबरों और सांसारिक मोह से मुक्त हो जाता है। भले ही वह पारंपरिक रूप से 'हरि' या किसी विशेष देवता की पूजा में लीन न दिखे, लेकिन वह आंतरिक सत्य में स्थित है। जैसे गोरखनाथ ने अपनी साधना से अमरत्व प्राप्त किया, वैसे ही कलयुग में भी वह व्यक्ति जो अपनी अंतरात्मा को पहचान लेता है, वह आध्यात्मिक रूप से अमर हो जाता है।

Meaning: In this couplet, Kabir suggests that when the spiritual gem or inner light within the body awakens, a person becomes detached from external rituals and worldly attachments. Even if they do not appear to be engaged in conventional worship of a deity, they are anchored in the ultimate Truth. Just as Gorakhnath attained immortality through his rigorous internal alchemy, anyone in this age of Kali who realizes their true self achieves a state of spiritual immortality.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जब तक अहंकार की अग्नि जलती रहती है, तब तक मनुष्य दुखों में घिरा रहता है, लेकिन जब यह अहंकार नष्ट हो जाता है, तब जीवन में वास्तविक आध्यात्मिक हरियाली और शांति आती है। वह प्रक्रिया भले ही कष्टदायक हो, लेकिन जब बुराइयों की जड़ काट दी जाती है, तभी जीवन में सत्य का फल प्राप्त होता है।

Meaning: Kabir explains that as long as the fire of ego burns at the forefront of one's existence, the soul remains in turmoil. However, once this ego is incinerated, a spiritual lushness and peace emerge. Though the process of eradication is painful, only by cutting the root of ignorance and pride can the true fruit of liberation be harvested.

If one truly desires to reach the Divine or the Ultimate Truth, they must surrender their ego completely. While ordinary individuals may falter or lose their composure in the face of hardship, the spiritual seeker remains steadfast, anchored by inner strength, remaining unmoved by the temptations of Maya or the turbulence of worldly conflicts.

अर्थ: एक सच्चा वीर वह है जो बाहरी कवच या दिखावे के सहारे नहीं रहता और मृत्यु के भय से मुक्त होता है। जबकि कायर व्यक्ति संकट आने पर पीठ दिखाकर भाग जाता है, एक साहसी व्यक्ति मृत्यु का सामना मुस्कुराहट के साथ करता है और चुनौती को स्वीकार करता है।

Meaning: A true warrior does not rely on external armor or superficial protections, nor does he fear death. While the coward flees by turning his back to the enemy, the brave soul faces the challenge head-on, welcoming even the possibility of annihilation with an open heart.

This strike is so precise and potent that it annihilates even the most formidable delusions of the powerful and arrogant.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जब असली चंदन दूर चला जाता है, तो लोग साधारण पलाश के पेड़ को ही चंदन समझने लगते हैं। लेकिन जैसे-जैसे कोई चूल्हे की आग में झांकता है या तपता है, वैसे-वैसे उसे असली सुगंध का अनुभव होता है। यह बाहरी दिखावे और आंतरिक सत्य के बीच के अंतर को दर्शाता है।

Meaning: Kabir suggests that when true sandalwood departs for a distant land, people mistake the common flame-of-the-forest (Palash) for it.
