अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि दुष्ट लोगों के कठोर और कड़वे शब्द एक संत या आत्म-साक्षात्कारी व्यक्ति को विचलित नहीं कर सकते। जिस प्रकार विशाल समुद्र में गिरने वाली बिजली की कड़क उसे जला नहीं सकती या उसका अस्तित्व समाप्त नहीं कर सकती, उसी प्रकार एक स्थिर मन वाला व्यक्ति बाहरी आलोचनाओं से अप्रभावित रहता है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that the harsh and piercing words of malicious people cannot unsettle a saint or a self-realized soul. Just as a bolt of lightning striking the vast ocean cannot burn it or diminish its essence, a person with a steady, centered mind remains untouched by external criticisms and verbal assaults.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जिस प्रकार एक व्यक्ति टीलों और ऊँच-नीच को ढहाकर जमीन को समतल मैदान बना देता है, उसी प्रकार जो साधक अपने अहंकार और मानसिक विकारों को नष्ट कर देता है, वही वास्तव में उस निराकार शब्द या परम सत्य को प्राप्त कर सकता है।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that just as one levels hills and mounds to create a flat plain, a seeker must demolish the elevations of ego and mental distortions. Only the one who can flatten these internal barriers can truly walk the path of the 'Shabd'—the primordial, formless sound of liberation.

अर्थ: साधारणतः मनुष्य अपने भीतर के दोषों, वासनाओं और अज्ञान रूपी चोरों से डरता है और उन्हें दबाने या नष्ट करने का प्रयास करता है। परंतु कबीर कहते हैं कि जब वह 'चोर' वास्तव में परमात्मा या आत्म-बोध के रूप में प्रकट होता है, तो साधक अपना सर्वस्व उस पर न्योछावर करने को तैयार हो जाता है।

Meaning: Generally, a person fears and attempts to suppress the 'thief' within—the impulses of desire, ego, and ignorance. However, Kabir suggests that when this thief is recognized as the Divine Presence or the awakening of the Soul, the seeker is joyfully willing to sacrifice everything they possess to unite with it.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि मनुष्य को अपने चंचल और अहंकारी मन को नियंत्रित करना चाहिए और उसे अपने हृदय के भीतर ही सीमित करना चाहिए। जैसे एक हाथी को नियंत्रित करने के लिए अंकुश का प्रयोग किया जाता है, वैसे ही विवेक और अनुशासन के माध्यम से मन की अनियंत्रित इच्छाओं को मोड़कर अंतर्मुखी होना आवश्यक है ताकि आध्यात्मिक शांति प्राप्त हो सके।

Meaning: Kabir urges the seeker to subdue the restless and egoistic mind, confining its wandering nature within the sanctuary of the heart. Just as a mahout uses an ankush (goad) to control a wild elephant, one must employ the tool of spiritual discipline and discernment to redirect the mind's outward cravings toward inner realization and stillness.
