अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि यदि कोई व्यक्ति केवल बाहरी यात्राएँ करता है, जैसे मथुरा, द्वारिका या जगन्नाथ पुरी जाना, तो वह व्यर्थ है। यदि जीवन में सत्संग (सज्जनों की संगति) और ईश्वर की सच्ची भक्ति नहीं है, तो इन तीर्थों की यात्राओं से वास्तव में कुछ भी प्राप्त नहीं होता।

Meaning: Kabir asserts that visiting sacred pilgrimage sites like Mathura, Dwarka, or Jagannath Puri is futile if it remains a mere physical journey. Without the company of the enlightened (Sadh Sangati) and a genuine internal devotion to the Divine, these external rituals yield no spiritual fruit or liberation.

While the simple-hearted, like Kabir, have already attained the ultimate truth through love, the learned scholars remain trapped in the labyrinth of scriptures, searching for a truth that cannot be found in ink and paper.

अर्थ: पड़ोसी के साथ विवाद करना या उनसे नाराज रहना धीरे-धीरे जीवन के सुखों को नष्ट कर देता है। जो लोग अत्यधिक विद्वान या नियम-परायण होने का ढोंग करते हैं, वे इतने संकीर्ण हो जाते हैं कि वे पानी को भी छानकर पीते हैं, अर्थात वे जीवन की सहजता को खोकर केवल बाहरी शुद्धता और अहंकार में उलझ जाते हैं।

Meaning: Maintaining enmity or resentment toward one's neighbor leads to the gradual erosion of one's own peace and happiness. Those who pride themselves on being overly scholarly or ritualistically pure become so rigid and obsessed with external purity that they filter their water meticulously, losing the essence of natural living to the grip of spiritual arrogance.

अर्थ: मनुष्य जीवन भर तीर्थों की यात्रा करता रहा और पवित्र नदियों में स्नान करता रहा, परंतु अंततः मृत्यु को प्राप्त हुआ। उसने केवल शब्दों में "राम-राम" जपा, लेकिन उसके हृदय में वास्तविक राम (परमात्मा) का वास नहीं था, इसलिए समय (मृत्यु) उसे बेरहमी से खींच ले गया।

Meaning: A person spends their entire life visiting pilgrimage sites and bathing in holy waters, yet eventually meets death without liberation. Though they chanted the name of 'Ram' mechanically, they never realized the Divine within; consequently, the inevitable force of Time drags them away into the void.
