Meaning: Kabir suggests that if a spiritual seeker or saint is asleep, one should awaken them, for upon waking, they will return to the divine remembrance of Brahman. However, three entities should never be disturbed from their slumber: a maddened elephant, a lion, and a serpent, as their awakening triggers uncontrollable rage and lethal destruction.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that enduring physical blows from a marginalized person is preferable to enduring the caustic words of a proud, high-status individual. While physical wounds heal over time, the psychological trauma inflicted by arrogant speech pierces the soul, eroding one's dignity and leaving a lasting scar on the spirit.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that only those who cultivate a spiritual vision and surrender akin to the sage Shukdev can transcend the ocean of worldly existence. Without the guidance of a true Guru, an individual remains trapped in ignorance, condemned to wander through the endless cycle of eighty-four thousand species of birth and death.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that beholding a true Sadhu—a realized soul—is a mark of supreme fortune. The spiritual resonance of such an encounter is so potent that even if one is facing the most agonizing punishment, like crucifixion, the mere presence of the enlightened one dissolves the thorns of suffering and grants liberation from worldly agony.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that the truly auspicious day is the one when one encounters a genuine Sadhu or an enlightened soul. However, encountering a True Guru (Satguru) bestows infinite spiritual fruits, liberating the seeker from the endless cycle of birth and death through ultimate wisdom.

Meaning: Kabir emphasizes that the sight and teachings of a true seeker or enlightened soul should never be ignored or treated with indifference. Just as diligent effort and hard work attract prosperity (Lakshmi), spiritual diligence and the company of the wise lead to liberation, while mental laziness and spiritual apathy result only in loss and stagnation.

Meaning: Kabir suggests that one should seek the company of a true saint or an enlightened soul frequently throughout the day.

Meaning: Kabir suggests that if you have failed to pursue spiritual growth throughout your life, you should at least dedicate a few moments now to seek the company of a true saint. The insight gained from a genuine spiritual master can shield you from the deceptive nature of time and the inevitable trap of mortality and cyclic existence.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that mere temporal efforts and the passage of time cannot achieve the spiritual liberation that a single encounter with a true enlightened soul can provide. Even a brief glimpse or a moment's company of a realized master once a day is sufficient to navigate and transcend the turbulent ocean of worldly existence.
