Meaning: The mind acts as a captivating enchantress that lures both celestial beings and mortals alike. Everyone is consumed by the illusions of Maya, yet no one is capable of consuming or overcoming Maya itself; it remains the predator while the soul remains the prey.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that Maya (the cosmic illusion) has become a cunning cheat, wandering across all lands to deceive every soul. However, he offers his deepest salutations to that Supreme Cheat—the Divine Truth—who managed to outwit and deceive the deceiver herself, liberating the soul from the trap of illusion.

Meaning: Kabir presents a surreal and vivid depiction of the human ego. He describes the ego as a monstrous horn growing from the forehead, stretching nine cubits long. This manifestation of pride is so destructive that it strikes those in front with its horn and kicks those behind with its hooves, illustrating how an arrogant person creates suffering in every direction of their existence.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that when a human is consumed by worldly attachments and the greed for wealth, they begin to betray even their closest kin. The influence of Maya is so potent that it can turn a son against his own father, replacing natural love with cold selfishness.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that one who serves as a humble devotee or 'daasi' to a realized saint possesses a crown far more precious than any earthly throne. While those who pride themselves on worldly status and material power are merely clinging to illusions during their crises, the true dignity and grace are found in the selfless companionship and humility learned through the association of the enlightened.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that while everyone speaks of Maya, virtually no one truly perceives its nature. He suggests that Maya is not an external force, but rather the state of being trapped within the delusions and attachments of the mind; he who cannot transcend the mind is himself Maya.

Meaning: Kabir explains that Maya is a captivating enchantress that lures the human soul into illusion. Attempting to possess or control it through desire is futile, as it never grants lasting satisfaction. As long as the mind remains entangled in false attachments and the ego's delusions, Maya continues to haunt the seeker, keeping them trapped in the endless cycle of worldly wandering.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that Maya (illusion) and the ego's attachments are essentially of the same nature. When a person pursues external pomp or social prestige, they are merely dancing to the tune of illusion. People tend to honor the outward appearance or status of a person, failing to realize that truth is internal and that caste or social labels hold no spiritual significance.

Meaning: Maya is a captivating enchantress, as sweet and alluring as crystallized sugar. It lures the soul into a state of delusion, masking the ultimate truth with temporary pleasures. Only through the grace and awakening provided by a true spiritual master (Sadguru) can one see through this veil; otherwise, Maya renders the seeker a fool, wasting their existence in pursuit of shadows.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that regardless of one's outward purity, status, or intellectual brilliance—symbolized by the sacred conch and the lotus—a life devoid of true devotion (Bhakti) remains spiritually empty. Without this inner connection to the Divine, the soul remains trapped in the cycle of suffering and the grip of inevitable spiritual decay.
