Meaning: Kabir asserts that he continues to impart wisdom, yet people dismiss his words with indifference. He emphasizes that the true nature of a teacher's spiritual labor is known only to the teacher, and the actual struggle and progress of a disciple are known only to the disciple.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that one must first recognize and honor the divine essence within oneself, while the world's seekers focus on the external worship of a teacher. He explains that the wisdom of the true Guru is so profound, unfathomable, and infinite that it transcends the grasp of the ordinary intellect.

Meaning: Kabir warns that a teacher who is selfish and miserly with their spiritual grace cannot lead a seeker to liberation. Such a guide focuses on superficial rituals and formal yoga, failing to cleanse the deep-seated stains of ego and ignorance that cling to the soul like thick mud.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that the only path to the Divine is absolute surrender. When a human relinquishes the ego and adopts the spirit of a humble servant, they eventually merge into the Supreme Consciousness. Intellectual cleverness or strategic piety cannot please the Divine; only the simplicity of heart and inner humility lead to the ultimate truth.

Meaning: Kabir questions his own restless search, noting that true realization is rarely found in the external world. He asserts that when the individual's inner truth aligns and merges with the Absolute Truth (Sat), the poisons of worldly suffering and ego are transmuted into the nectar of eternal bliss and liberation.

Meaning: Kabir suggests that without the guidance of a true spiritual teacher (Guru) and the practice of devotion, the human psyche (symbolized here by 'naari' or the creative energy/mind) becomes like a stray dog. It wanders aimlessly through the streets of worldly existence, barking in agitation and noise, yet finding no solace or genuine connection with others.

Meaning: Kabir asserts that humans search for light in the external world, wandering even under the brilliance of fourteen moons, yet the house that lacks the presence of a True Guru remains in darkness. External luminosity cannot dispel the profound internal ignorance of the soul.

Meaning: The influence of association is so profound that if a Neem tree dwells among Sandalwood trees, it begins to be perceived as fragrant as Sandalwood. Similarly, if a person becomes completely immersed in the company of the ignorant or the misguided, they lose their true identity. Kabir warns against falling into such blind devotion or toxic associations where one's discernment is entirely extinguished.

Meaning: Kabir advises that if one seeks spiritual awakening but finds no immediate fruit, they must remain patient and avoid frustration within the heart. Just as seeds sown in barren, saline land will never sprout regardless of how many seeds are added, spiritual growth is impossible without inner readiness and the cultivation of the soul's soil, regardless of the intensity of outward rituals.

Meaning: Kabir suggests that the human mouth acts as a mirror reflecting the internal state, yet when unguarded, the words emitted are like venomous serpents. By practicing the discipline of silence (Mauna), one prevents the spread of spiritual poison—born of anger and ego—throughout the body and soul, ensuring inner purity and peace.
