यौवन की नश्वरता (Fading Youth) — Kabir Dohas

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि जीवन की युवावस्था बीत चुकी है, शारीरिक शक्ति कम हो गई है और बाल सफेद हो गए हैं। अब समय आ गया है कि हम अपने बिगड़े हुए आध्यात्मिक कार्यों को सुधारें और इस संसार के मोह-माया के बंधनों से मुक्ति का मार्ग खोजें।

Meaning: Kabir observes that the prime of youth has passed, physical strength has waned, and hair has turned grey. He urges the soul to rectify its neglected spiritual endeavors and seek a definitive way to liberate itself from the entanglements of worldly existence before time expires.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि अपनी युवावस्था और शारीरिक सौंदर्य पर कभी अहंकार न करें। जिस प्रकार टेसू का फूल केवल दस दिनों के लिए खिलता है और फिर वह पलास के पेड़ की तरह सूखा और बेजान हो जाता है, वैसे ही मानवीय यौवन और आकर्षण क्षणभंगुर हैं।

Meaning: Kabir warns against harboring pride in one's youth and physical beauty. Just as the Tesu flower blooms for a mere ten days before the Palash tree turns dry and lifeless, the vigor and allure of human youth are fleeting and destined to fade.

Meaning: Kabir observes that humans spend their entire lives chasing worldly titles, power, and the vanity of 'lordship,' only to eventually hear the drumbeat of inevitable mortality. When old age arrives, symbolized by the white turban of silver hair, the realization dawns that the prestige and ego accumulated over a lifetime are utterly futile in the face of the eternal.

अर्थ: कबीर कहते हैं कि मनुष्य संसार रूपी घास के मैदान से निकलकर अपने घर (आत्मा या परमात्मा) की ओर लौट आया है। अब वह घर पहुँचने की खुशी मना रहा है और अपनी युवावस्था की इच्छाओं तथा सांसारिक आसक्तियों को पीछे छोड़कर शांति की तलाश कर रहा है।

Meaning: Kabir suggests that the soul, having navigated the wild, overgrown grasslands of worldly existence, has finally returned to its true home. The joy of homecoming resonates, as the illusions of youthful desire and the frantic pursuit of material longing finally dissolve into spiritual stillness.
