मैं रोवों ऐहि जगत को, मोको रोवे न कोय।
मोको रोवे सो जना, जो शब्‍द विवेकी होय।।

Main rovon aihi jagat ko, moko rove na koy. Moko rove so jana, jo shabd viveki hoye.

इस पृष्ठ पर इस कबीर दोहे का अर्थ (meaning), हिंदी व्याख्या और अंग्रेज़ी अनुवाद, दार्शनिक विश्लेषण और व्यावहारिक जीवन सीख दी गई है। यह दोहा अंतर ज्योति (The Inner Light) विषय से जुड़ा है — Kabir doha meaning and explanation in Hindi and English.

अर्थ (Meaning):

कबीर कहते हैं कि वे इस संसार की अज्ञानता और आध्यात्मिक अंधापन देखकर दुखी हैं और रो रहे हैं, लेकिन इस संसार में कोई ऐसा नहीं है जो उनकी इस पीड़ा को समझ सके। केवल वही व्यक्ति कबीर के इस विलाप में साथ दे सकता है जो 'शब्द' के वास्तविक अर्थ को जानने वाला और विवेकशील हो।

Kabir laments the profound ignorance and spiritual blindness of the world, weeping for humanity's lost state, yet finds that no one weeps for him or his sorrow. He asserts that only those who possess the discernment of the 'Shabad' (the Divine Word/Sound) can truly empathize with his spiritual anguish.

व्याख्या (Interpretation):

Literally, this couplet appears as the lament of a lonely saint, but it is actually the pinnacle of 'Karuna' (compassion). The 'weeping' here is not physical grief but a spiritual longing that arises when an awakened soul witnesses others trapped in the illusions of Maya. This reflects the facet of Nirgun Bhakti where the devotee, having merged with the Formless, still feels an intense love for the suffering world. The 'Shabad Viveki' is one who has dissolved duality through the realization of the Divine Word and understands the non-duality of Atman and Brahman. It presents the central paradox: the one whom the world deems mad is the only one truly grieving for the world's spiritual bankruptcy.

दार्शनिक विश्लेषण (Philosophical Analysis):

This couplet is a product of an era where religion had shrunk into mere rituals and outward displays. Kabir explicitly rejected all traditions that distanced man from the Divine. His 'weeping' is, in reality, a social and spiritual rebellion, signaling that until a human sheds their external identity (caste, religion, status), they cannot approach the Truth.

From the perspective of Advaita Vedanta, this lamentation targets the influence of 'Maya'. When a seeker realizes that the entire universe is a single consciousness, they begin to perceive the suffering of others as their own. This mirrors the Sufi concept of 'Ishq-e-Haqiqi' (Divine Love), where the lover burns in the longing for the Beloved and wishes for the entire creation to recognize this love.

Kabir emphasizes the significance of 'Shabad'. The Word is not merely sound, but the primordial vibration at the root of creation. One who is a 'discernment of the Word' knows that material achievements are ephemeral. The annihilation of the ego is the only path to becoming 'Shabad Viveki'.

Culturally, Kabir challenged the pundits and mullahs of his time who had imprisoned faith within books and rigid laws. For him, religion was a call of the heart and an internal experience. This couplet demonstrates that when knowledge transforms into experience, it manifests as compassion.

Therefore, this verse is not just an expression of sorrow, but a clarion call. It reminds us that the ultimate goal of spiritual awakening is not merely individual liberation (Moksha), but the development of a deep, selfless empathy for all of humanity.

मूल संदेश (Core Message):

  • The walls of ego prevent us from seeing the authentic suffering of others.
  • True knowledge is that which is transformed into active compassion.
  • Spiritual awakening means feeling a profound oneness with all of creation.
  • Discernment of the Word comes from direct experience, not just scriptures.
  • Only when the 'I' vanishes does genuine love for humanity take birth.

व्यावहारिक उदाहरण (Practical Example):

Once, on the ghats of Varanasi, lived an elderly weaver named Ramdeen. Ramdeen had spent his entire life spinning yarn and weaving cloth. He was of a very simple nature, but within him resided a deep restlessness. He observed people fighting in the name of religion, the rich exploiting the poor, and everyone racing blindly after wealth and prestige.

Ramdeen would often sit in solitude and weep. His neighbors considered him mad. They would say, "Look at this old man! He has a home, he has work, so why does he cry?" Ramdeen tried to explain that he was weeping for them, but people dismissed his words as a joke.

One day, an arrogant scholar arrived in the city. He had read numerous scriptures and considered himself a great sage. He approached Ramdeen and asked mockingly, "In what grief do you weep? Has your wife died, or has your business collapsed?"

Ramdeen looked at him calmly and replied, "Sir, I weep for the blindness that covers your eyes. You know the scriptures, but you do not know the Word that resonates in the heart. You carry the burden of knowledge, but there is not a single drop of compassion within you."

The scholar was initially enraged, but the profound compassion and peace in Ramdeen's eyes shook him to the core. He realized that all his degrees and scriptures had become walls of ego. He had never considered that someone could actually weep for his soul.

That night, the scholar could not sleep. Ramdeen's phrase 'Shabad Viveki' kept echoing in his mind. He realized he had been playing a game of words, while Ramdeen was living the truth beyond words.

The next morning, the scholar cast aside his royal robes and fell at Ramdeen's feet. He asked, "Show me the path so that I too may feel the pain of this world and hear that Divine Word."

Ramdeen told him only one thing, "Place your ego upon this loom and weave it until it is completely erased. When the 'I' remains no more, you will see that the entire universe is your own."

Gradually, the scholar underwent a transformation. He was no longer just a knower of texts, but a human who wept in others' sorrow and smiled in their joy. He learned that true knowledge is that which makes a person humble and connects them with all of creation.

अभ्यास मार्गदर्शन (Practice Guidance):

  • Daily Compassion Meditation: Sit in silence for 15 minutes daily and visualize all suffering beings merging into your heart. Develop deep empathy instead of judgment or hatred.
  • Self-Inquiry Journal: Record one incident daily where your 'ego' prevented you from acknowledging someone else's pain. Analyze what that internal barrier was.
  • Behavioral Shift: Help at least one person every day without any selfish motive or desire for recognition. Experience the feeling that you and the other person are two forms of the same consciousness.
  • Diagnostic Checklist: If you feel jealousy at others' success or dismiss others' suffering as 'their karma,' recognize that you have not yet become a 'Shabad Viveki'.

चिंतन प्रश्न (Reflection Questions):

  • Is my grief truly my own, or am I merely mourning the loss of my social image?
  • I claim to weep for the world, but do I have the patience to listen to the silent agony of those in my own home?
  • Is the 'compassion' I display through my digital identity (social media) authentic or merely a performance?
  • If all my achievements and titles were stripped away today, would there be a truth within me that could keep me steady?
  • Whom do I label as 'ignorant,' and is that judgment not simply a projection of my own ego?
